A very quiet weekend on the UK box office and The Lego Batman Movie hold onto the top spot for a third consecutive week, and with a virtually static top 6 Patriots Day is the top new film at 7.

On its third weekend at the top Lego Batman takes £2.8 million which brings its total gross in the UK to £23 million, compared the The Lego Movie this is still running a shade under.

The film took over £5 million for the period Monday - Sunday which made it the top film for the week as well.

A third weekend at number 2 is therefore in order for Fifty Shades Darker with £1.5 million for the weekend and £20.3 million in total.

With Sing, John Wick Chapter 2, Hidden Figures and The Great Wall all holding tight in the top 6 the highest new film is Patriots Day at number 7.

The Mark Wahlberg starring film about the Boston Marathon bombing took £843,380 for the weekend and is one of the actors lowest debuting movies.

La La Land, which had a good, if confusing night at the Oscars this year, takes the honour of being the top total grossing movie this weekend with a total gross of £29 million and the longest running movie with a 7 week run.
