Cinemas across the globe are starting to re-open and a trickle of figures are starting to emerge, and before we get an official global box office lets take a look at what still doing well across the globe.

These figure and generated from various sources and collaborations and are the closest we can get to an global top 10 during the ongoing pandemic, these charts by their nature are fluid and change as the week goes on, we will change this report to reflect the changes.

Here is a look at this week top 5.

The Invisible Man

Led by drive-in theatres in the US the Blumhouse Productions horror movie is still doing well across the globe despite being available on VOD for a couple of months now.

The movie take $450K this week and has taken $129 Million global since first released 15 weeks ago.

The Real Exorcist

The Japanese film has been around for a few weeks now on the charts from Japan and this week tops the charts in that teretory and is at number 2 on the global charts with $397k.

The film has a global total gross of $4.3 Million after 5 weeks of release.

Little Women~2019

Greta Gerwigs adaptation movie spends another week on the global box office and sits at number 3 this week with $384K pushing its global total to $214.6 Million.

Trolls World Tour

Despite being made available on VOD day and date with a theatrical release the animated sequel is at number 3 this week with $348K for a total gross of $3.3 Million.

Jumanji: The Next Level

Despite being released at the tail end of December the sequel movie starring Dwayne Johnson is still doing well in theatres and this week takes $327K pushings its total gross to $805.2 Million.

Infamous~2020

infamous

No big new films are being released at the moment with the first being Mulan on 24th July (at the moment) which gives this low budget movie a change to be the top new film of the weekend with a debut gross of $160K from American drive in theatres.

As more figures are released we are adjusting our box office figures for the US with the new data and this week we have The Invisible Man topping again.

Further down the chart Infamous is the top new film and there are a lot of classic movies reentering as the theatres fill their schedules.

Here is a rundown of the top 5 movies in the US.

The Invisible Man

Now in its 15th week of release and 9th weekend on the box office the Blumhouse Productions horror movie takes $383K pushing its total US gross to $64.9 Million.

An interesting record has hit the movie this week as it becomes the film with the longest span between first hitting the top of the box office and hitting the top again, this is without the release of the original trilogy Star Wars movies which were all in new versions!

Trolls World Tour

Having been released on VOD earlier in the year the movie was show at a handful of Drive in theatres, this week the movie takes $275.7K on its 5th week.

This brings the movies total gross in the US to $3.6 Million.

Back To The Future

An old classic getting a new run, the 1985 movie celebrates its 35th year in 2020 and this week takes $263K, this puts the film US total at $211.1 Million.

The Hunt

Films released before the coronavirus outbreak have had extended runs at the box office despite getting VOD releases and this horror movie this week tales $227.8K on its 6th weekend of release.

The movie has now taken $5.18 Million at the US box office.

Jumanji: The Next Level

Rounding out the top 5 is the movie from the end of 2019 with takes $212.7K on its 17th weekend which puts its total at $316.8 Million.

Infamous

Infamous

Highest new film of the week is this low budget movie starring Bella Thorne which makes its debut, at drive-in theatres remember, with $160.3K.

The movie would potentially have been released without even being noticed under normal circumstances!

Is Meryl Streep in the film or not, we know the character has died and we know another actress plays her in the flash back, but we want to know.

Regardless the rest of the cast is back and the sequel for what was once the highest grossing film in the UK, imaginatively titled Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again which as we all know is like the song lyric, now has its final trailer.

Come 27th July we'll all be singing the infamous ABBA songs, so lets see if it can match the first films UK gross, its got a tough job on its hands.

We've waited so long for this and finally its here, Disney have released the full trailer to Solo: A Star Wars Story due out late May.

Its 1 minute and 43 seconds long and we get our first taste of Alden Ehrenreich as the infamous smuggler - and we get a good sense that the film will go into the characters back story.

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
