Tom Cruise has always been a film favourite at the UK box office having scored hit film after hit film, but his latest film The Mummy which must have seemed like a sure fire hit falls at number 2 this week.

It was a very close call in the end with The Mummy pulling in £3.3 million on its debut, if you compare this to Cruises last film Jack Reacher Never Go Back it is a million higher, but compared to his last franchise film Mission:Impossible Rogue Nation it is a couple of million shy.

Despite if this means the actor is starting to loose his sure fire hit status if you compare this The Mummy to the 1999 Brendan Fraser version of the film its about equal, and that nearly 20 years ago.

Remaining at the top for a second week, and by the thinest of margins is Wonder Woman which takes £3.4 million this weekend.

This brings the films total gross after 10 days of play to £12.8 million and well on track to be one of the highest grossing movies of the year.

Also new this week at number 5 is the Live Cinema event Take That Wonderland Live From The O2 with £1 million.

New at 6 is My Cousin Rachel while another event movie Peter Pan: NT Live 2017 is new at 11.

With Beauty and The Beast returning to the top 15 this week it becomes once again the top grossing movie with £72 million and the longest running film at 12 weeks.

The new IP from Dreamworks hits the top with a weekend gross of £5.4 million which is about average for an animation from the studio, Kung Fu Panda 3, the last film from them took £4.7 million on its opening.

If things go as usual Trolls could get somewhere in the £10 million mark especially with a fairly decent debut.

The Girl on The Train falls from the top this week after a couple of weekends at the top, a £2 million weekend takes the film to £17.7 million after 3 weeks of release.

Also new this week is Jack Reacher Never Go Back which lans in the runner up spot with £2.6 million, this is in the ballpark, but lower, of the first film with took £3.5 million on its debut.

Longest running film of the week is The BFG which has been around now for 13 weeks and the highest total grossing movie is Bridget Jones's Baby now on £44.5 million.

The Medea series has never taken off here in the UK but in America each film does well at the box office and Tyler Perry is a massive star.

Boo! goes the to the top on a very quiet weekend at the box office with a weekend gross of $27.6 million.

Falling from the top is The Accountant, now at number 3 with a weekend take of $14 million which brings the films total US gross to $47.9 million.

Also entering the chart this week is Jack Reacher Never Go Back at number 2 and Ouija Origin of Evil at number 3.

Its been a very quiet period on the US box office recently and the top total grossing film on the chart this week is Miss Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children with $74 million while the longest running film is Storks at 5 weeks.
