It may not have Snow White this time but The Huntsman Winters War makes its debut at the top of the UK box office.

A prequel to 2012's Snow White and The Huntsman this new film has gone one better by making to top of the box office, but has not matched the debut gross.

Huntsman has taken £3.02 million on its debut, half a million less that its predecessor, but its still in the same ball park and could have a similar pattern of release.

Falling to number 3 this week is Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice which takes £2.2 million from the weekend.

The film has failed to ignite the box office in the way the Marvel film have but still the total gross to date is £33.3 million and the highest on the box office.

Also new this week on the top 10 are: Midnight Special at 6 and Hardcore Henry at number 10.

Achieving something which hasn't been done in a fair while this week The Divergent Series Insurgent holds onto the top spot for a third week in a row.

The last film to achieve this was Disney Frozen well over a year ago, that film went on the spend most of 2014 inside the top 3 and made many trips to the top.

Highest new film of the week if The Duff which enters the Uk video chart at number 2.

The Duff was released at UK cinemas on 10th April of this year where it made its debut at number 4 of that week, although it was the highest new film.

A 4 week run saw it gross a total of £1.9 million at the UK box office.

There is only one other new film this week in the shape of Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 which enters at number 4.

23rd February 2015

It's another week at the top of the US box office chart for Fifty Shades of Grey despite there being a 72% decline in ticket sales on it's second weekend.

Taking a weekend gross of $23.2 million compared to the $85 million from the previous week, it still out did Kingsman The Secret Service which hold on in second place.

After 10 days of release Fifty Shades has now taken a US domestic gross of $130.1 million.

Highest new film of the week is Disney's McFarland, USA starring Kevin Costner which enters at number 4 with a weekend gross of $11.3 million.

Also new is The DUFF at number 5 which took $11.02 million from it's debut weekend.

Disappointingly Hot Tub Time Machine 2 could only manager a number 7 debut with $5.8 million.
