As a whole host of movies from 2020 move into 2021, the movies scheduled for 2021 start moving into 2022 with Jurassic World: Dominion being moved by a year to June 10th 2022.

The latest in the long running Dinosaur movie series was the first big production to restart in the COVID-19 pandemic and set a standard for what can me done safely.

Jurassic World: Dominion rescheduled

The movie stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt along with the original stars from 1993s Jurassic Park Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum.

With production nearly finished there will be a large post production to all all the special effects then the movie will sit there waiting to be released!

2022 seems a long way off but with no vaccine in sight we could only just be in the safe zone by then.

Another new poster has appeared online for the new Bond movie No Time To Die featuring 007 actor Daniel Craig with a large gun and ready for action.

It's yet another lacklustre poster, but it does fit in with the marketing campaign that has been seen to date for the movie.

No Time To Die

These posters really don't scream quality, and this new one, intentional or not, looks out of focus and like I knocked it up in Photoshop late last night.

The new movie is set for release on November 12th 2020, but with the current release of Tenet not doing the numbers expected many films are starting to have their release dates shifted again, so there is a possibility it may happen to this Bond movie.

Arguably it could be the real movie to restart the box office, but as its Craig last outing it a risk to take.

Plot outline

The 25th film in the long running James Bond, 007 series. No Time To Die has a retired James Bond living with Madeleine Swann who holds a dark secret. Bond's best friend from the CIA Felix Leiter delivers some news that puts Bond back into action against a new villain, perhaps to a deadly end.

Tenet remains at the top of the UK box office for a third weekend while After We Collided get an increase in cinema count and get an impressive leap to number 2.

Highest new 'movie' of the weekend is the Event Cinema release of the K-Pop band BTS in concert while the top new film is The Broken Hearts Gallery which misses out on a place on the top 5.

In a downward spiral for the second weekend running the top 15 movies grossed less than the previous weekend, this could be down to no new film being released or people not willing to venture to the cinema in the current climate, the rela test will be when the next big movie comes out, although release dates are starting to shift again.

Here is a breakdown of the top 5 movies in the UK 11th - 13th September 2020.

Tenet

No surprise that the Christopher Nolan movie is the top film in the UK for the third weekend in a row, and with a weekend gross of £1.2 Million the movie is slowing fast.

The movie has now taken £12.4 Million in the UK, the good news is its now the 8th top movie of 2020, to date.

After We Collided

After a good debut last weekend the movie got a significant increase in screen count this week giving the Roger Kumble directed movie a good boost and the movie climbs to number 2 with £422.6K.

This puts the movies total UK gross at £763.6K after 2 weeks of release.

Break The Silence: The Movie

Break The Silence: The Movie

The many fans for K-Pop band rushed out this weekend to see the bands latest live movie event to the tune of £374K making the top new entry of the week.

The New Mutants

Disney's troubles mutant movie from the X-Men universe fall to number 4 this weekend with £200.6K in takings.

This puts the movies total gross at £1.1 Million after 2 weeks of release, ironically I'm not sure if the film would have done any better in a fully functioning market!

Onward

It not all bad news for Disney as their Pixar movie Onward spends a 14th weekend the top 5, at 5, with £97.2K taking its total gross to £7.06 Million.

With cinemas in the UK still not operating anywhere near capacity and couple that with many people still not willing to spend a couple of hours in close proximity to other people tenet spends a second weekend at the top in a weaker box office than last week.

The top film of the weekend is 20th Century Fox's (and hence Disney's) much delayed mutant movie The New Mutants which makes its debut this week and has perhaps been a bit disappointing for many.

With the weakened weekend box office and the potential new spike in the COVID-19 cases the box office is not looking good, and if the likes of Wonder Woman 1984 and No Time To Die get delayed we may not see a full recovery until well into next year.

Here is a breakdown of this week top 5 movies in the UK 4th - 6th September 2020.

Tenet

Christopher Nolans head scratching new movie which has split opinion among movie goers remains at the top in the UK box office for a second weekend with £2.1 Million.

This puts the movies total UK gross at £10 Million, it is the top movie of the summer period and could well be the top title for weeks to come.

The New Mutants

The New Mutants

Peerhaps coming in lower than expected the new Disney movie from the X-Men univers makes its debut at number 2 with £686.4K.

It's hard to know where this movie will go from here, it could be a long running movie as Unhinged has been, but if we get the new big blockbusters that are expected in the next couple of months it could sink without trace and end up on Disney+ sooner rather than later.

After We Collided

Directed by Roger Kumble this movie at first was not a top 5 movie but then when figures came in from the distributer it was a top 3 movie!

The film takes £256K on its debut with little in the way of hype or word of mouth.

Onward

Pixars computer generated animation falls to it lowest position since it launched on March with a weekend gross of £135.6K.

This puts the movies total gross as £6.9 Million after 13 weeks on the box office.

Unhinged

The Russell Crowe starring thriller drops to number 5 this week with £96.9K for a £1 Million total after 6 weeks of play.

A new poster has been released for upcoming movie No Time To Die which can seen below.

Starring among others Daniel Craig and Ana de Armas the movie is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga and it has a release date of 12th November 2020.

Daniel Craig

I really hope the marketing for this movie kicks in really soon, apart from some very poor posters, some meaningless stills and a lacklustre trailer there has been little.

Considering the movie should have been released by now there must have been a load of marketing waiting to kick into gear, it worries me that the film wont be that good, and as its Daniel Craigs last outing, and he's been one of the best Bonds, that would be a real shame.
