At the box office this weekend the summer kicked off properly with the sequel movie A Quiet Place Part II which makes its debut a the top of the UK box office.
Last weeks top movie The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It drops down to number 4 while Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway and Cruella continue to do well.
Also new this weekend is Dream Horse at number 5 while further down the chart is Felix and the Hidden Treasure at number 11 with £43,011 on its debut.

Uk box office top 5 breakdown 4th - 6th June 2021
Directed by John Krasinski and starring his real life wife Emily Blunt this is the sequel to 2018's A Quiet Place and lands at the top of the UK box office on its debit.
The movie took £3.5 Million which is good considering that cinemas are still on limited capacity and the public are only just getting used to going back to the cinema after such a long time away.
Interestingly the first movie took only £2.6 Million on its debut and has to content with a debut at number 2, so in the face of the pandemic the sequel has done better!
This sequel movie was always going to do well at the box office, it was just the feel good film the country needed after the year or lockdown and star James Cordon is a massive pull in the UK.
The movie takes £2 Million this weekend which is almost identical to its weekend gross from last weekend and the film stays firm at number 2.
After 3 weeks of release the movie has taken £12.6 Million and is the top movie of 2021 so far.
Disney's villain origin movie which has had some good reviews stays put at number 3 this weekend with £1.28 Million, a slim 12% drop from last weekend.
The movie has been on the box office now for 2 weekends and has a total UK gross of £4.5 Million.
Falling hard from the top spot in the horror movie from The Conjuring Universe which takes £1.03 Million this weekend, a 62% drop giving it a total of £5.3 Million after 2 weekends.
Making its debut at number 5 this week is the new movie from director Euros Lyn which stars Toni Collette and takes £209,389 on its debut.

This weekend across the globe the horror movie The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It climbs to the top of the box office as it opens in more countries including the USA.
This means A Quiet Place Part II fall to number 2 and with no other big new releases the rest of the top 5 does a little shuffle around.

The third movie in The Conjuring series increases its country count to 45 this weekend and jumps up the box office from 10 to number 1.
The horror movie takes a very decent $26.7 Million, an increase of 85% from last weekend, on its second weekend giving it a global gross of $57.1 Million.
Falling to number 2 on its second weekend of release is the John Krasinski directed sequel movie which takes $19.2 Million, a hard drop of 17% from last weekend.
The movie which is released in 17 countries has now taken $138.6 Million globally.
Disney's villain origin movie falls to number 3 this weekend after taking $18.6 Million from 37 countries, a 50% drop over last weekend, giving the movie $138.6 Million in total after 2 weeks.
The Fast series 9th movie has only been released in 8 countries so far with China being its biggest to date and this weekend falls to number 4 with $13.3 Million, down 57% over last weekend.
The Justin Lin directed film has been on the chart now for 3 weeks and has taken $255.9 Million globally.
The animated movie is still on the chart 18 weeks later and this weekend takes $7.7 Million from 8 countries, a 54% drop over last weekend, giving the movie a total gross of $67.7 Million globally.

The US cinema going public is enjoying its horror movies at the start of the summer season as The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It its the top spot on its debut weekend replacing A Quiet Place Part II.
Last weeks horror movie falls to number 2 this weekend and elsewhere on the top 5 is a new entry for animated movie Spirit Untamed which is at 4.
Also worth a note this week is the first movie to get over $100 Million since the pandemic started will happen by next weekend, and although Godzilla Vs. Kong has come very close it will be A Quiet Place Part II which will go part the milestone first.

US box office top 5 breakdown weekend 4th - 6th June 2021
The latest movie in the now long running Conjuring Universe hits the top of the US box office on its debut weekend with a gross of $6.2 Million.
As you would expect this is lower than the previous film in the main Conjuring series for which this is the third movie, those two both came in on their debut's with $40 Million.
The John Krasinski directed sequel movie falls to number 2 after showing a strong debut weekend which came in almost identical the 2018 original movie.
On its second weekend this movie takes $19.5 Million which is 60% down from last weekend, but similar to the original, and this gives the movie a fantastic $88.6 Million total.
Disney's 101 Dalmatians villain origins movie falls to number 3 this weekend with $11.2 Million, a 47% drop and not bad considering you watch it at home with a Disney+ subscription and an extra $30.
The movie has taken $43.6 Million over its 2 weekend release.
New at number 4 is the animated movie which is a sequel to the almost forgotten 2002 movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.
This movie takes a fairly reasonable $6.2 Million on its debut, reasonable because its has little publicity and the country is still keeping cinemas at limited capacity.
Disney's animated tale spends another week inside the top 5, at number 5 with $1.3 Million, a 35% drop from last weekend.
The movie has now taken $53.5 Million, and even more amazing this weekend is that its now available on Disney+ without paying the extra $30 for the privilege!

Taking over at the top of the global box office on its debut is the John Krasinski directed sequel movie which is released on 6 countries this weekend.
The movies takes a debut gross of $70.3 Million which is very good for a Hollywood movie during this pandemic era, and a sign that the box office is starting to return to normal.
Disney release their long awaited Cruella De'vil origins movie to the world and despite it being released on Disney+ Premium as well it enters the global box office at number 2 from 30 countries.
The debut gross of the movie is 37.4 Million which is reasonable but could have been higher had it not been for A Quiet Place Part II at number 1.
