The Mad Max saga movie tops the US box office on its debut weekend with a gross of $26 Million.

The summer movie season is not doing too well to date with the year on year considerably lower this year.

Coming in at number 2 is the animated movie The Garfield Movie which takes $24 million over its debut weekend.

Last weeks number 1 movie IF falls to number 3 this weekend and has taken $58 Million after 2 weeks of release.
