All change yet again at the top of the UK video chart with sequel movie The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel makings its debut.

The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel was released at UK cinemas on 27th February of 2015 and made it's debut at number 1 with a weekend gross of £3.7 million.

A successful run saw the film stay at the top for a total of 3 week, but it's chart run didn't last much longer and it only lasted 6 weeks on the top 15.

The film took £15.5 million at the Uk box office making it the 278th highest grossing film ever. Compared to it's predecessor The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel it was about £5 million behind.

Last weeks top film, Fifty Shades of Grey, fell to the runner up spot this week.

Another £2.5 million over the weekend sees the Hero 6's UK gross rise to £7.5 million from it's 11 days of release, including preview screenings.

Interestingly it was the weekend which gave Hero 6 the top spot, looking at the chart for the full week, Kingsman takes the top spot by nearly a million pound.

Highest new film of the week is from the Aardman animated studio, Shaun The Sheep Movie enters at number 4.

Shaun takes ££2 million for the weekend, not the numbers that Wallace and Gromit are used to but it's up there with other Aardman films.

Historical box office

Mr. Peabody and Sherman entered the box office at the top on it's debut weekend of release knocking The Wolf of Wall Street from the top to number 3.

Five years ago
Avatar retained the top spot for yet another week, The Princess and The Frog from the mouse house was the highest new film at 2.

Ten years ago
Meet The Fockers stayed at the top for another week leaving Ocean's Twelve to land on the box office at number 2 on it's debut.

Fifteen and Twenty years ago
Oscar winner American Beauty was still at the top of the box office fifteen years ago while twenty years ago the controversial Natural Born Killers was the top film in the country.

This weekend there was one clear winner in the box office race, it was in the shape of a sponge, the second Spongebob movie, The Spongebob Movie Sponge Out of Water.

The first Spongebob movie was released 10 years ago but all this time later and the follow up takes the franchise in a whole different direction for the popular cartoon character.

The Spongebob Movie takes an excellent $56 million on it's debut weekend.

Getting knocked down to number 2 is American Sniper which takes $24 million this weekend bringing it's US total to $282 million.

Also new this week is: Jupiter Ascending at 3 which at $19 million debut is the lowest for a Wachowskis film since they hit the big time, also Seventh Son is new at 4.
