I remember Dora The Explorer being more an education cartoon which had a kind of interactive element and tough kids about the world.

Seems the brief for the movie was more "lets make a kids version of Tomb Raider"!

In this trailer we see Dora exploring tombs and stuff in a jungle type setting, although there are some adults along for good measure, or comic relief.
