Uk box office top 5 breakdown weekend 31st December 2021 - 2nd January 2022

Spider-Man: No Way Home

Spider-Man: No Way Home

Three weeks at the top now for the third in the MCU Spider-Man films which takes a quite staggering £6 Million on its 3rd weekend of release, a 24% increase over last weekend, but cinemas were closed for a day the previous week.

The movie is easily the second top movie if 2021 having taken £69.8 Million to date, it sits behind the Bond movie No Time To Die at year end, but the movie will in the long run most likely beat it.

The King's Man

The King's Man

Highest new movie of the weekend is the Matthew Vaughn prequel movie to the directors The Kingsmen movies.

The movie takes a very reasonable £3.49 Million over its debut weekend.

Clifford the Big Red Dog

The movie about the large red dog remains at number 3 this weekend with a gross of £778,802, a large 55% increase over last weekend, this gives the movie a total UK gross of £5.9 Million after 4 weeks.

The Matrix Resurrections

The fourth in The Matrix saga falls to number 4 this weekend with a gross of £760,427, a huge 75% from last weekend, not a good sign for the Warner Bros. well hyped movie.

The films has a total gross of £5.2 Million over its 2 weekends of release, not that good, something has not quite hit home with this movie and it looks like its going to be a big flop.

West Side Story

Celebrated director Steven Spielberg's retelling of the classic stage show falls to number 5 this weekend with a gross of £397,792, a 47% increase over last week, this gives the movie a total UK gross of £5 Million after 4 weeks.
