At the UK box office this weekend, Friday, 9th August 2019, there are 3 new releases looking to take your attention at the local multiplex and knock Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs and Shaw from the top of the UK box office chart next week.

Blinded By The Light

First up at cinemas this week is Blinded By the Light, a Comedy directed by Gurinder Chadha who also directed Bride and Prejudice in 2004 which grossed £5 Million.

It stars Viveik Kalra who is making a feature film debut and Kulvinder Ghir who last appeared in The Queens Corgi (2019).

Playmobil: The Movie

Next on the new release schedule is Playmobil: The Movie, this new Fantasy stars Dino Andrade and Gabriel Bateman.

The film is brought to us by new director Lino DiSalvo.

The Sun Is Also A Star

Next up this week is The Sun Is Also a Star which is directed by Ry Russo-Young who directed Before I Fall in 2017.

It stars Yara Shahidi and Anais Lee.
