Pitch Perfect 2
The highly anticipated sequel Pitch Perfect 2 makes its debut at the top of the UK box office on its debut weekend despite some strong competition from the Mad Max remake.

Pitch Perfect 2 took a very good debut weekend gross of £5 million which is only a million shy of the entire box office run of the first film in the series, Pitch Perfect.

Mad Max: Fury Road

Rolling in half a million behind is Mad Max Fury Road, the sequel/remake of the Mel Gibson films received excellent reviews from the critics and was expected to get to the top but the aca-girls were simply too much.

Falling into third this weekend after a trio of weeks at the top is Avengers: Age of Ultron, the Avengers Assemble sequel has taken an incredible £43.2 million to date and is the top film of the year so far.

Bombay Velvet at number 14 is the only other new film on the top 15 this week.
