It's the end of the first quarter of 2020, and with cinemas closed in the UK until further notice it seems like a good time to look at the top 10 films of 2020 so far.

1917

Sam Mandes film is by far the top grossing film of 2020 so far, with a total gross of £43 Million it has taken more than double that of the number film.

This is no surprise from the British director, the movie saw tipped for glory at the Oscar but ended up loosing out ot Parasite, still the British public took to the World War II film.

Sonic The Hedgehog

Despite the difficult production and fan feedback for the design of Sonic when the first trailer came out, director Jeff Fowler went back to the drawing board and re-did the central character and it seems to have worked.

The movie ended up grossing a very good £19 Million, far than than was expected.

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker

Despite an amount of disappointment from a section of the Star Wars fan base the last episode of the "Skywalker Saga" did very well over the holiday period, altohugh it is the lowest grossing of the sequel trilogy.

A gross of £18 Million in 2020 adds to the £39 Million taken in December of 2019.

Little Women

Greta Gerwig's adaptation of the Louisa May Alcott classic novel was a fan favourite which took £17.7 Million at the ox office.

Bad Boys For Life

Many people had written this film off before release but the repairing of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence worked and the movie grossed nearly £16 Million at the UK box office.

Dolittle

Another surprise hit as the Robert Downey Jr. movie took £15.8 Million at the box office.

Jumanji: The Next Level

Dwayne Johnson's sequel may not have been the smash Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle was but it still manages a respectable £14.7 Million.

Parasite

Parasite

Winning the best film Oscar did this South Korean movie wonders as it became the highest grossing foreign language film ever in the UK with a total of £12 Million.

The Gentleman

Guy Ritchie returns to his directiorial roots with this London based gangster movie which took £11.5 Million.

Birds Of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn)

More was expected from this Harley Quinn movie starring Margot Robbie but the film under performed, it still managed a £8.8 Million total gross.
