Disney's sequel movie Frozen II makes its UK box office debut at the top knocking last weeks top film, Last Christmas, into second place, while Blue Story makes an impressive start to its box office run at number 3.

Frozen II

Disney bring to the screen the follow up to 2013's Frozen which opened to £4.7 Million, the new movie opens to £15..08 million which is the biggest opening weekend for an animated movie in the UK beating Pixar's Toy Story 4 from earlier in the year.

To be fair the first movie did the hard work and built up the kind of following that meant the sequel was always going to hit big on its release.

Frozen went on to gross £43 Million during its total run and there is no reason why this movie will not match, if not exceed that films total.

The films £15 Million opening is the 28th highest ever in the UK, ahead of 2003's The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King and behind 2016's Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.

Last Christmas

Last week number 1 debut movie falls to number 2 this week with £2.2 Million which considering the negative reviews is still good.

The total gross sits at £6.7 Million after 2 weeks of release.

Blue Story

Director Andrew Onwubolu marks his debut with this gritty gangland drama set in London which makes is debut at number 3 with an incredible £1.3 Million from just 310 cinemas.

Le Mans '66

The racing drama starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale falls to 4 this week with £1.1 Million pushing its total to £4.2 Million after 2 weeks.

21 Bridges

Chadwick Boseman stars in this action film set in New York, it is directed by Brian Kirk and makes its UK box office debut at 5 with £655,213.

Joker

Warner Bros. DC villain movie continues to do well in the UK as it spends its 8th weekend on the chart with a total gross of £57 Million.

Disney's new animated movie, the sequel Frozen II, tops the US box office with ease on its first weekend of release with A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood landing at number 2, For V Ferrari falls from the top to number 3 on its second weekend.

Frozen II

Disney's sequel smashes its way onto the US box office this weekend with an excelled debut gross of $41.8 Million.

Although the film didn't break any records in the US it is the 3rd biggest animated opening of all time behind Incredibles 2 and Finding Dory.

It was a bigger opening than the first Frozen which took $94 Million back in 2013, and to top it all off its the fifth biggest opening in the month of November in the US.

A Beautiful Day In the Neighborhood

Starring Tom Hanks this bio-pic about the American children's entertainer Mr Rogers enters the box office at number 2 with $4.54 Million.

With Oscar buzz being attached to the film for Tom hanks, and even a best film award for the movie itself the film could hang around for a while and have a boost early next year during awards season.

Ford V Ferrari

Last weeks top film falls to third place this week with a gross of $4.5 Million which brings the total gross to $46.4 Million after 2 weeks.

21 Bridges

The new film starring Blank Panther's Chadwick Boseman makes its debut at number 4 this week with $3.3 Million.

Midway

Falling to number 5 this week is the World War II drama which take $1.3 Million taking the film total gross to $39.7 Million after 3 weeks of release.

Joker

The former number 1 film this week is the top total grossing movie on the box office with $324 Million and it also has the longerst run with 8 weeks.

Without too much trouble Frozen II makes its global debut at the top of the global box office leaving Ford V. Ferrari to drop into second place while A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood and 21 Bridges also make promising debuts to their chart run.

Frozen II

Disney's sequel animated feature was a sure fire hit the make its debut at the top of the global box office as the much anticipated sequel to 2013's mega hit Frozen takes $350.2 Million from 38 countries.

With the film being released just before the holiday season across much of the world the film is bound to remain in the upper section of the chart for a while.

The film will be hard pushed to match the £1.2 Billion of the original film but its within the movies, and Disney's, power to get the film over the Billion mark.

Ford V Ferrari

The Matt Damon and Christian Bale starring movie drop to number 2 on its second weekend of release with $30.7 Million from 44 countries.

THe film has now made a very respectable $103.7 Million globally.

A Beautiful Day In the Neighborhood

Tom Hanks shines in the story of American children's favourite Mr Rodgers in this Oscar worthy film which enters the chart at 3 with $13.5 Million from just 1 country.

The Marielle Heller directed movie will expand wider in the coming weeks but as this is very much a story of an American icon with little knowledge of the subject matter around the globe the studio will have to rely on the star power of Tom Hanks to sell the movie.

21 Bridges

Chadwick Boseman stars in this action movie which enters the global box office at 4 with $12 Million from 21 countries.

Joker

Falling to 5 this week is the DC villain movie which has potentially shone brighter than other comic book movies this year, the film takes $10.4 Million from 78 countries on its 8th weekend of release.

The film has now taken $1.035 Billion globally and although this is nowhere near the box office take of Avengers: Endgame the movie cost far less to make and there is the possibility of a Oscar next year, Warner Bros. must be far happier than Marvel right now!
