There were no big films released this week in the UK which makes Christopher Robin spend a second weekend at the top and yet again it has Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again hard on its heels.

The final figures weren't quite as close as last week with Christopher Robin taking in £2.1 million which brings the films total gross after 10 days to £7.1 million.

Staying at number 2 for the fifth weekend is Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again which takes £1.7 million over the weekend, this brings the films total gross to an amazing £58.7 million.

The Meg stays at number 3 this week with £1.5 million for a £11.7 million total.

Finishing off the top 5 is Incredibles 2 and The Equalizer 2 with £1.26 million and £1.25 million which brings each films totals to £51.2 million and £4.5 million respectively.

Coming outside the top 5 the highest new film of the week is the Spike Lee directed BlackKKlansman which takes £1.24 million for the weekend meaning that there only £200,000 between number 4 and number 6.

Also new this week is The Spy Who Dumped Me at 7 with £1.05 million making the top 7 films all bring in over a million pound each and The Children Act at number 11 with £0.5 million.

Slender Man and Alpha are also new at number 14 and 14.

The Meg gets knocked off the top of the US box office this week by Crazy Rich Asians which outgrossed expectations on its opening weekend.

The romantic comedy which stars Constance Wu and Michelle Yeoh opened to the tune of $25.2 million and is one of the biggest commedy openers of the year.

Appeal could be limited but with good reviews there is the possibility of it hanging around the charts for a number of weeks for a good total gross.

Falling to number 2 this week after a week at the top is The Meg which takes $21.1 million for the weekend.

This brings the films total gross after 2 weeks to $83.7 million.

Mile 22 starring Mark Wahlberg is new at number 3 with an opening weekend gross of $13.6 million.

Rounding out the top 5 is new film Alpha and Mission:Impossible Fallout which early box office estimates show have the same weekend gross of $10 million.

Highest total gross on the US box office this week is Mission:Impossible Fallout which has taken $180 million over its 4 week run.

No problem this week for the Channel 4 show The Inbetweeners as their second film hits the right comedy spot with British audiences and goes to the top.

The Inbetweeners 2 which debuted on Thursday did in fact the the best ever first day gross for a comedy in the UK, beating it's predecessor in the process.

The comedy hit the top on it's debut weekend and took a box office gross just a little below that of the first film, but coming in with £12.5 million it will go on to be a big hit like the first.

Guardians of the Galaxy falls to number 2 this week but still gets a very good £3.3 million taking it's 2 week total to £13.8 million.

Also hitting the Uk box office chart are: - Planes Fire and Rescue at 4 - Gods Pocket at 15

Last year Alan Partridge Alpha Papa hit the top on it's debut weekend of realise knocking The Smurfs 2 right down to 7 after only a week at the top. It was a massive week for new films with 4 new releases in the top 5.

Five years ago The Ugly Truth was the new film at the top finally knocking off Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince which fell to 3.

Ten years ago Will Smith starred in I, Robot which debuted at the top of the box office with King Arthur taking a tumble down to 3rd place.

Fifteen years ago we had a fairly static chart with Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me staying at the top for a second week, the highest new film was Dougs 1st Movie at 8.
