$0 As the ever so British Bridget Jones brings her fourth movie to the big screen it smashes into the top of the UK box office at number 1 with a gross of £12 Million.
This opening gross has also made it the highest debut for a movie in the Bridget Jones series which now consists of 4 movies.
All the movies have starred Renee Zellweger and although this promises to be the last one with these box office figures this series could continue.
As the Marvel Cinematic Universe starts to show a decrease in returns the new movie in the series Captain America: Brave New World makes its UK debut at number 2 this weekend.
With a debut gross of £6.4 Million it is one of the lowest grossing in the MCU and Disney will be looking at Thunderbolts later this year to pick up the long running series.

After the hype it was always going to be big and the Deadpool entry into the MCU has certainly been an event as it smashes into the top of the UK box office.
The movie lands at number 1 with a £17 Million plus opening commanding 70% of the total box office take this weekend.
It is also the 5th largest debut in the month of July.
The path ahead looks good for the movie and with these numbers a sequel of some kind in guaranteed.
Last weeks top movie, Despicable Me 4 falls to number 2 this weekend after a couple of weeks at the top of the box office.
Inside Out 2 continues to do amazingly well and has taken over £50 Million at the UK box office.

Pixar come back to life after a series of Direct to Disney+ movies with a sequel to the 2015 movie Inside Out which smashes the summer box office with a debut over $154 Million.
The original movie took $90.4 Million when it debuted nearly 10 years ago and Inside Out 2 looks set to be one of the biggest movies of the summer of not the year.
Last weeks top movie Bad Boys Ride or Die falls 40% this weekend and has taken $113 Million over 2 weekends at the box office.
Highest new movie this weekend
Sequel movie Dune: Part Two has no problem makings its debut at the top of the North American box office this weekend as it smashes its way in with a debut gross of $82.5 Million.
The first movie in the series was released during the closures of the COVID19 pandemic, and although had a theatrical release its $40.1 Million debut in October of 2021 was reflective of the times.
Last weeks top movie, Bob Marley: One Love, falls to number 2 this weekend after a couple of weekends at the top, but has still taken over $82 Million on its 3 weeks of release.
Finishing off the fourth season on smash hit TV show The Chosen, The Chosen: Season 4 Episodes 7-8 is a new entry at number 3 this weekend with $4 Million.
Madame Web Clings onto the a top 5 position for another weekend but with the film only having made $40.4 Million after 3 weeks Sony will be looking at this movie as its biggest disaster for a Spider-Man related movie to date.
