This week a new release takes over at the top of the chart in the shape of the Luc Besson directed Lucy.
Starring Scarlett Johansson the film was released at UK cinemas in August of 2014 where it entered the box office chart at number 1 and stayed there for 2 weeks.
It took £ 3.07 million on it's debut week of release and stuck around the box office chart for 7 weeks in the top 15 and then another 3 outside.
During it's release it made a total gross of £14.6 million making it the 292nd highest grossing film of all time in the UK.
Last weeks top film, Left Behind, falls to number 3 this week after a single week at the top.
Also new this week is Before I Go to Sleep at 2.
Worthy of a mention also, for another week, is Frozen which this week slips down from number 2 to number 7, after 42 weeks inside the top 5 this is it's first time this low.
After 2 weeks at the top Lucy gets knocked down the chart by Sex Tape which makes it's debut in the Uk at number 1.
Starring Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel this Jake Kasdan directed comedy about a couple trying to spice up their sex life by making a movie, which then gets shared to everyone debuts with £1.4 million.
Not a great opening gross especially for the 2 leads, Diaz has enjoyed great success with the Shrek franchise while Segel has seen big grosses with the likes of The Muppets, Gullivers Travels and Knocked Up.
Lucy has been having a great cinema run and after 3 weeks of release has taken a very respectable £10.46 million.

The summer movie season is over now and it's the long slide to Christmas now. To start off the Autumn schedule we have Sex Tape, Before I go to Sleep and Life of Crime hitting cinemas this weekend.
Sex Tape stars Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel as a married couple who film a night of sex which then accidentally gets put online.
Fair reviews and few other rom coms out at the moment will see this get a high entry, and with Diaz and Segel both likeable stars this could even hit number one on a quiet weekend.
Before I go to Sleep is directed by the acclaimed Rowan Joffe and stars Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth with support from Mark Strong.
With an excellent pedigree the hard hitting drama should see itself enter in the top 5, maybe as high as 3.
Adapted from a Elmore Leonard book Life of Crime has it's work cut out for it as he's one hard author to adapt for the screen.
A strong acting pedigree in the shape of Jennifer Aniston, Isla Fisher and Tim Robbins should boost the films appeal and could see it just about get into the top 5.
Let us know your thoughts below and if you agree with me and come back next week to see how the box office shapes up.
