Highest new movie this weekend

As wil all Marvel/Disney movies in the modern cinema age, the Black Panther sequel makes its debut at the top of the North American box office.

The movies makes its debut with a gross of $181.3 Million, a very substantial gross for a November movie release, but lower than that of the first movie.

Black Panther, which was released in the February of 2018, took a fantastic $202 Million on its debut.

The movie has instantly become the 8th top grossing movie of 2022 on its release.

The DC super hero movie starring Dwayne Johnson falls from the top to number 2 this weekend with a weekend gross of $8 Millon, a 56% drop over last week.

The movie has now taken $150.5 Million in North America after 4 weeks of release and is the 10th top grossing movie of 2022.

Surprise hit of the season starrring George Clooney and Julie Roberts in a romantic comedy remains at number 3 this weekend with $5.9 Million, a small 31% drop over last week.

This gives the movie a total gross of $56.3 Million after 4 weeks of release.

The Children's book adaptation jumps back up the box office from number 6 to 4 this weekend with $3.2 Million, a tiny 5% drop over last week.

THe movie has taken an excellent $40.8 Million in North America after 6 weeks of release.

As the horror movie of the season starts to loose steam this this weekend and falls to number 5 it takes $2.3 Million, a modest 41% drop over last week.

This gives the movie a total gross of $102 Million as it passes a massive milestone in North America after 7 weeks of release.

With the Marvel sequel movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever making debut on the UK office this weekend there were no other new releases as the movie slides into the top spot with a £13 Million Uk opening.

Highest new movie this weekend

As is the trend in cinemas in the modern era, with a new Marvel and Disney movie there is a new box office number 1 and it is a mjor even for the week of release.

With the release of the Black Panther sequel we get the first movie in the series since the passing of its star Chadwick Boseman which the movie deal with in the opening act of the film.

The movie makes its debut with a fantastic £13 Million debut weekend, although this is lower than the £17 Million Black Panther took on its debut in 2018.

In comparison to Black Adam which this film replaces at the top, that movie took £5.6 Million on its debut, in comparison to the last MCU movie, Thor: Love and Thunder which was also a sequel albeit the fourth in the series, that took £12.2 Million, so generally in the same ballpark.

The movie is also responsible for nearly 80% of the total of this weekends top 15 movies.

The Black Panther series, as well as Marvel in general, has a very strong fanbase who will keep this on the box office until the end of the year.

The Dwayne Johnson starring super hero movie falls to number 2 this weekend after 3 weeks at the top with a gross of £786,226, a large 61% drop over last weekend.

This gives the movie a total UK gross of £18.6 Million after 4 weeks of release.

The Children's book adaptation falls to number 3 this weekend with a gross of £647,000, a small 34% drop over last weekend.

The movie has turned into a major hit and has currently taken £11.5 Million in the UK after 5 weeks on the chart, all of them inside the top 5.

The Irish Oscar contender falls to number 4 this weekend with a gross of £560,627, a 43% drop over last weekend.

The charming and heartwarming movie starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson and directed by Martin McDonagh has taken £7.5 Million in the UK after 4 weeks of release.

Director Oliver Hermanus's movie starring Bill Nighy falls to number 5 this weekend, its second, with £492,047, a 27% drop, giving the movie a total UK gross of £1.7 Million.

Spending a third week at the top of the North American box office is the Dwayne Johnson starring superhero movie which grosses $18.2 Million which is a 33% drop over last weekend.

This gives the movie a total gross of $137.1 Million after 3 weeks of release which makes it the 10th top movie of 2022.

The movie is doing well for the DC Universe and Warner Bros. with a good 3rd weekend hold over and its currently beating the previous film in the series The Suicide Squad although that movie did get released during the pandemic.

Highest new movie this weekend

Making its debut at number 2 this weekend is the Japanese animated sequel which enters the North American box office with a gross of $9.3 Million.

The movie is a sequel to One Piece Stampede which was released from 2019 which took $770,755 on its debut in October 2019.

The movie was released in Japan in August of this year when it took over $16 Million on its debut and has made $120 Million to date.

The George Clooney and Julia Roberts romantic comedy falls to number 3 this weekend with $8.5 Million on its 3rd weekend of release, a small 13% drop over last weekend.

The movie has out preformed what expectations were for the movie and has to date taken an amazing $46.7 Million.

The biggest horror movie of the year remains at number 4 this weekend with a gross of $3.9 Million, a small 27% drop over last weekend.

Now on its 6th weekend of release the movie has taken a total gross of $99 Million in North America as it pushes to the $100 Million milestone.

Falling to number 5 this weekend is the top new movie last weekend with a gross of $3.8 Million, a 46% drop, giving it a 2 week gross of $13.6 Million.

Superhero movie Black Adam is starting to be a sizable hit iin its own right on its last weekend before the next major event movie hits UK cinemas and spends a third weekend at the top of the UK box office.

The top new movie of the weekend is the Bill Nighy starring movie Living which enters at 4 with the Japansese animated movie One Piece Film: Red coming in one place below at 4.

This gives the movie a total UK gross of £17 Million over its 3 weeks of release as it pushes its way towards the £20 Million milestone.

The movie is the only film this weekend to gross over £1 Million at the box office.

The children's comic book adaptation remains in second place this weekend as its takes £979,484, a 35% drop over last weekend.

This gives the movie a fantastic £10 Million over its 4 weeks of release and is becoming a major hit in the UK.

The Irish comedy drama starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson remains at number 3 this weekend as it takes £976,323, a very slim 23% drop from last weekend.

The movie has taken £6.2 Million in total over its 3 weeks of release.

Highest new entry of the weekend comes from director Oliver Hermanus who adapts the 1952 Japanese film Ikiru directed by Akira Kurosawa.

The movie lands at number 4 this weekend with a debut gross of £670,206 which is the directors highest grossing movie in the UK.

The Japanese animated movie sequel makes its debut at the UK box office this weekend at number 5 with a debut gross of £559,623.

The movie which is a sequel to One Piece: Stampede from 2020, this movie far out grosses that movie which make its debut at the end of January with £69,174 and spent a single week on the box office.

New horror film Prey for the Devil is the top new movie of the weekend as it makes its debut at number 3 with Black Adam remaining at the top for a second weekend.

Event movie Coldplay - Music of the Spheres: Live Broadcast From Buenos Aires is the only other new entry on the top 15 movies this weekend at number 11 with $1,015,000.

This gives the movie a total US gross of $110.9 Million in North America as it passes the one hundred million milestone after 2 weeks of release.

The George Clooney and Julie Roberts starring movie must be the sleeper hit of the summer as the movie continues to do well in North America after its success across the rest of the world.

This weekend the movie takes $9.8 Million which is a 40% drop over last weekend giving it a $33 Million total after 2 weeks fo release.

The highest new entry this weekend comes in at number 3 as the Halloween season start to conclude we get this horror movie from director Daniel Stamm.

The movie makes its North American debut with a gross of $7.1 Million, not bad for a very low budget film but it could almost sink without trace by next weekend.

The horror movie of the season falls a single place this weekend to number 4 as it fails to capitalise on the Halloween season.

With a weekend gross of $5.4 Million, a 36% drop over last weekend, the film has been far from a flop as its total gross rises $92 Million.

It is chasing the one hundred million milestone which the movie may struggle with now the horror season is over and done with.

The last of the current Halloween trilogy struggles to make a mark at the box office as its falls to number 5 5 this weekend with $4 Million, a 49% drop.

This gives the movie a US total gross of $60 Million after 3 weeks of release.
