The UK box office came to a grinding halt in January of 2021 as the global pandemic took full grip of the country so there was no chart until the middle of May.
Once cinemas opened it was a slow start Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway coming out on top for the first few weeks, it wasn't until late June when Fast & Furious 9 was released that things started to hot up, then things started to go from strength to strength.

The much delayed 25th movie in the Bond series finally got released at the very end of September 2021 and after a massive debut weekend where it took nearly £26 Million the movie managed to do what Tenet the previous year couldn't, it got people mack in cinemas.
The movie, which is still on general release got mixed reviews from critics, and has an ending with split Bond fans, but to date the movie has taken £96.4 Million over 12 weeks of release and is the third highest grossing movie of all time in the UK.
The last movie from the MCU universe to be released in a year when Marvel/Disney/Sony had a fantastic return to cinemas, and after all the hype and rumours about what the multiverse would bring the movie took a massive &pond;31.9 Million on its debut in the UK.
The film was released in mid December so it still raking in the cash as your local multiplex, and will most likely overtake No Time To Die with its total gross as well as be only the third movie in history to gross over £100 Million.
With a total gross already over £50 Million after just 2 weeks it will most likely feature quite high on the top movies of 2022 as well.
Another MCU movie on the list of top movies if 2021 as the much anticipated new superhero hit cinemas in early September with a debut gross of £5.7 Million.

Outside the top 10 movies there is a new release for First Cow which is directed by Kelly Reichardt and enters the box office at 13 with £21,862.

Disney release their latest live action movie as a origin tale for Cruella De'Vil which enters the box office at number 3 despite also being available the Disney streaming service, altohugh with extra cash for the pleasure.
The movie which stars Emma Stone and Emma Thompson took £1.4 Million on its debut weekend.
The animated movie from director Haruo Sotozaki has been a mega smash across the world over the last year and has to date taken nearly $500 Million (£352 Million) since its release last October in Japan.
Its debut on the UK box office has it enter at 4 with a weekend gross of £693,081.
Falling to number 4 this weekend is the monster smash up movie which has been a mega hit globally but as its been available on streaming in the UK for a while its UK gross has been low.
This weekend the movie take £254,172, a 68% drop from last weekend, for a total of £1.7 Million on its second weekend of release.
The new movie from director Guy Ritchie is given a 15 age rating in the UK by the BBFC.
The movie stars action hero Jason Statham and is an English speaking remake of the 2004 French film Cash Truck.
The movie also stars Jeffrey Donovan and Josh Hartnett.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, Jason Statham is ultra cool in the first trailer for revenge thriller Wrath Of Man.
Based on the French movie Cash Truck directed by Nicolas Boukhrief, Guy Ritchie brings his trademark style to this new thriller.
Statham plays a newly assign cop who has a secret past and is a man out for revenge, and is looking super cool in this trailer.
There is no release date yet for the UK but America gets the movie on May 7th.

A new poster has been released for the upcoming Guy Ritchie movie Wrath of Man which can seen in full below.
The movie which is directed by Ritchie and has a familiar cast including the likes of Jason Statham and Jeffrey Donovan, with a US release date for the movie of 7th May and a UK release on June 25th 2021.
