There was a 3D version released in 2012 which took nearly £11 Million at the UK box office, but this one is a new 4K print of the movie.
On its initial release the movie took over £68 Million in the UK, making it the top grossing movie ever, it then went on to take another £11 Million in 3D showings taking to gross to nearly £80 Million.
The movie is also getting a release in a number of other countries like France and North America which will only help boost its current $2.2 Billion total gross, in truth once Avatar: The Way of Water climbs into the top 3 director James Cameron is looking to have the top 3 grossing movies of all time, its not impossible!
The first trailer has been released for Avatar: The Way of Water which can be seen in full below.

The trailer is really little more than a show reel for the new movie, choosing to show clips from the film, there is no story which will be kept under wraps until the movie is released, the special effects look a bit rough as well, although the trailer was shown in 3D in cinemas which would add to the effect massively.

The long in production sequel to the highest grossing movie of all time, Avatar has a name, and as rumoured its Avatar: The Way of Water.
The movie will see the return of directing for James Cameron who has not directed since Avatar in 2009, his previous movies include Titanic 1998 and Terminator 2: Judgment Day 1991.
As Disney own this property since their 20th Century Fox acquisition the first trailer for the movie will debut with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which is due in cinemas next week.
