News from around the web

There is a lot of excitement building for the new Star Wars: Episode VII Film, a continuation of the original Trilogy, and today Lucasfilms and Disney have posted that filming will start in May.

The filming location, like 1977s Star Wars, will be Pinewood Studios in Iver Heath near London.

Disney head Bob Igor stated in a recent earnings call that the new film would be set 30 years after Return of the Jedi, there would be 3 new leads and of course there is room for some "familiar faces" to pop up.

JJ Abrams is directing and a release date of December 18th 2015 is currently earmarked.

Olly Moss has created an incredible poster picturing the Oscar statue as a representation of all the best pictures awarded films.

It's incredibly simple but an incredible but of artwork and it's so much fun to try and work ou what each statue is before looking up the answer.

Check out the full poster at the Oscars website, or checkout the Olly Moss website which is more that worth a visit.

This has got to be one of the best things I've seen in a while, amateur film maker Casey Pugh asked people on the internet to send him 15 second clips they had made depicting scenes from the film Star Wars, and he's now strung them altogether.

The finished product is nothing short of amazing with some truly brilliant individual styles, as well as some not so brilliant it must be said.

What truly stand out for me is that all these clips are 15 seconds, and obviously a scene is longer than 15 seconds, but the way Aaron Valdez the films editor and Bryan Pugh the sound mixer has seamlessly put them together is just brilliant.

You can checkout more info at their website.

Personally I think this should get full endorsement from Lucasfilms and get a theatrical release, till that day catch it on YouTube or on the embedded video below
