It will most likely be the last weekend at the top for The Super Mario Bros. Movie but the top grossing movie of 2023 so far spends a fourth weekend at the top of the UK box office pushing its total gross to over £45 Million after 4 weeks of release.
With the horror movie Evil Dead Rise staying at number 2 with a gross of just over a million the top new movie of the weekend is The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry starring Jim Broadbent and Penelope Wilton which takes £784,698 on its debut.
Also new this weekend is Ponniyin Selvan: Part Two taking £618,244 on its debut and there is a new entry for the 40th Anniversary rerelease of the much loved classic Star Wars: Return of the Jedi at number 7 with £446,291
Maybe a little disappointing is the debut place for Polite Society which enters the box office at 9 with £220,278.
Finally inside outside the top 10 is Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World which debut's with £204,220.

The animated video game adaptation The Super Mario Bros. Movie spends a third straight weekend at the top of the US box office with a small drop of 37% over last weekend as its total gross nears $500 Million.
The top new movie of the weekend is Evil Dead Rise, a successor, of sorts, to Army of Darkness. The movie looks set to spark a new era in the long running series which original director Sam Raimi has expressed an interest in returning to.
Director Guy Ritchies new movie The Covenant~2023 is a new entry at number 3, starring Jake Gyllenhaal the movie takes $6 Million on its debut.
John Wick: Chapter 4 drops to number 4 this weekend and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves drop to 5 while Chevalier~2022 is new at 11 with $1.5 Million and Somewhere In Queens is at 12 with $681,770.

The animated movie remains at number 1 this weekend with £4 Million which takes its total UK gross to £41.6 Million as the movie continues to do bug business at cinemas.

Highest new movie of the weekend is the horrow movie sequel of sorts to The Evil Dead franchise which comes in at 2 with £1.4 Million.
The last Evil Dead movie, not counting the remake from 2013, came out in 1993.
Falling to number 3 this week is the board game adaptation which has taken £11 Million in the UK so far.
Still hanging on to a top 5 place is the sequel movie to the John Wick series which has taken £15 Million to date.
The Ben Affleck directed movie falls to number 5 this weekend with a gross of half a million on its 3rd weekend of release.

At 10 we have the event movie Der Rosenkavalier: Met Opera 2023 which takes £96,665, and at 11 the event movie Cinderella: ROH London 2023 which takes £94,743 and the final new release of the weekend is One Fine Morning at 12 with £82,447.
THe animated feature video game adaptation remains at the top of the UK box office for a second weekend with a £7.5 Million gross, a 52% drop over last weekend.
Despite a large weekend on weekend drop the movies total gross is up to £35 Million which means it takes over from Avatar: The Way of Water as the top grossing movie of 2023.
Still hanging on at number 2 is the role playing board game adaptation which after 3 weeks takes £1.1 Million, a very slip 27% drop.
Also hanging on at number 3 is the fourth chapter in the John Wick sereis which now has a total gross of £14 Million in the UK.
The Ben Affleck directed movie remains at number 4 with a solid second weekend on the box office with £723,125, a small 38% drop.

Coming in at number 5, and on a weekend with little in the way of new releases is the new movie starring Nicholas Hoult and Nicholas Cage.
The movie which has not has the best of reviews from critics makes its debut with £680,661.
