Fast and Furious 8 stays at the top of the global box office for a second weekend as it edges closer to the billion dollar mark while the top new film is Unforgettable at number 7.

By next weekend the 8th in the Fast series will have joined number 7 and grossed over a billion while this week the film took $202 million at the global box office from 66 countries.

The films lead country is China where Fast 8 is now the second highest grossing American movie ever after Fast 7, the films total gross now sits at $908 million after 10 days of release .

The Boss Baby is still at number 2 this weekend with $42 million from 79 countries while Beauty and the Beast is still pulling in the punters after 6 weeks and this week pushes its total global gross to $1.1 billion with a $32 million weekend from 51 countries.

The highest new global film this week is Unforgettable which enters at number 7 with $6.5 million from its 17 countries.

This week At the UK box office the little yellow Minions held off the highest new film quite comfortably to gain a second week a the top.

With a £4.15 million weekend the Minions has brought its total gross to £27.6 million, which ahead of both of the Despicable Me film from the same series.

Rolling into second place is Ted 2, Ted was a massive surprise hit back in 2012 taking nearly £12 million on it's opening weekend, Ted 2 has taken £3.8 on it's debut and will struggle to get over £10 million in total.

Other new films this week are Love and Mercy at number 9 and Song of The Sea at number 10.

Ten years ago - War of The Worlds held its own at the top while the highest new film was The Descent which enters at number 3.

Fifteen years ago - Chicken Run continued to dominate the box office at the top while this highest new entry was at number 3 in the shape of The Patriot.

Twenty years ago - The Batman franchise was still thriving and Batman Forever entered the box office at the top, First Knight fell to number 2.

Twenty Five years ago - Back to The Future Part III was entering at the top while Dick tracy fell to number 2.

The threat of the terminator posed no challenge for the Minions this week as the little green beings held on to the top spot with relative ease.

A second week at the top and a weekend gross of £6.2 million brings the total gross of the animated film to £20.9 million after 10 days of release.

Highest new entry of the week is Mr Schwarzenegger's return to the franchise which made him a star, Terminator.

Terminator Genisys enters the chart at number 2 with a weekend gross of £3.7 million, a little low maybe for a highly anticipated film such as this.

In comparison Terminator Salvation made £6.9 million on its debut, Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines took £6.08 million on its debut, so Genisys is running at half those two films.

Jurassic World continues to pull in the numbers and this week brings its total to £53 million.

Other new film this week are Magic Mike XXL at 4, documentary Amy at 5, with £523,192 the highest new entry for a documentary in the UK and Guillaume Tell Royal Opera House at 8.

Fifteen years ago - Chicken Run made its debut at the top of the box office, it finally knocked Gladiator from the top.

Twenty years ago - Congo made it's debut at the top of the box office knocking Bad Boys down to number 1 after a week at the top.

For the third week in a row Shrek Forever After hold the top spot at the US box office beating out strong competition from new comer Get Him to the Greek.

The big green ogre once again out grosses the rest of the box office, although with a really low gross over the weekend, all it took was $25.3 Million to manage stay on top.

Shrek number four has now taken just over $183 million in total grosses in the US.

The UK's very own Russell Brand returns as the arrogant pop singer Aldous Snow in Get Him to the Greek, but it only takes $17,422,620 in a very poor debut weekend.

Rounding out the top 3 in Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl in Killers taking just over $16 million.

Despite a bank holiday weekend and a first film which took more money than anyone could have expected, Sex and the City 2 fails to beat out either Shrek Forever After to top the US box office.

A second weekend for Shrek Forever After at the top of the US box office with Sex And The City 2 claiming the highest new film, the green ogre movie took $43 Million.

Prince of Persia is at number 3, it was a close fought battle though with Sex and the City 2 taking $31 Million and Prince of Persia taking $30 Million.
