The first trailer for the Denis Villeneuve directed Dune has been released and it looks as epic as you'd expect from the Blade Runner 2049 creator.

The book Dune was first adapted in 1984 by alternative director David Lynch, it was not well received at the time but has built a cult following over the years.

As technology has moved on and film makers are able to visualise fantastical fantasy books closer to the source material films are being remade that look stunning.

Judging from this first trailer the movie looks fantastic and as Epic a movie as you can have, every scene just looks incredible.

One of the main criticisms of the David Lynch directed version was the confusing plot, this looks like the story telling has been upped and made more accessible for the masses.

The movie is set for December 18th 2020 in the UK and US, save from any delays because of a COVID-19 spike, and looks set to be a big Christmas hit.

The British Board Of Film Certification has released its 2019 annual report which among other many other things talks about the movies which has the most complaints about their certificates.

Here is the top 5 films which got the most complains, its interesting to see that in the UK most complaints are based around violence in movies.

Joker

The Todd Phillips directed critically praised movie starring Joaquin Phoenix in the lead role which also won him the best actor Oscar got 20 complaints.

The movie was given a 15 certificate and according to the BBFC most of the commnets were for the violence and tone, with a small number of people asking for the movie to be banned outright.

The Favourite

Another critical darling and Oscar winning movie most notably for Olivia Colman in the lead role and was given a 15 age rating.

The movie got 12 complaints mainly for the strong language and sex references and acts, although as the BBFC notes most of this is done in a comic association.

John Wick: Chapter 3 Parabellum

Given a 15 certificate the Keanu Reeves movie is a full on tour de force and the 9 complains were about the level of the blood violence.

Interesting the BBFC notes 'Our research shows that violence that is perceived to be 'real' registers more strongly with viewers than violence that is clearly stylised or fantastical.'

Alita: Battle Angel

Robert Rodriguez directed this critically acclaimed comic book adaptation which was given a 12A age rating on release, the movie got 5 complaints for its strong language and violence.

Fighting With My Family

The British made movie which starred Dwayne Johnsson and was directed by Stephen Merchant for 5 complaints about the movies language and sex references.

Interesting notes

Of interest is the Transformers spin off movie Bumblebee which was submitted to the BBFC in 2 different edits, one was passed 12A and the other PG, only the PG version was shown in cinemas and the film still got 4 complaints about the violence although its purely fantastical robots that are creating the violence and no humans are ever involved.

The report is a fascinating read and can be downloaded here.

With the release of the first teaser trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald we get the first teaser poster.

Newt Scamander and Albus Dumbledore take centre stage as they do in the trailer, with Jude law stepping into the shoes of Dumbledore fantastically.

Nothing is given away in the poster other than as we already know, who the two central characters of the film are.

Check out the poster below.
