News from around the web

The annual tradition of The Razzie Awards being announced the night before the Oscars continued Saturday as The Emoji Movie wins big.

Picking up the most awards including worst picture Fifty Shades Darker also did well.

Check out the 8 minute video below with all the winners.

A very quiet weekend on the UK box office which has The Lego Batman Movie holding onto the top spot for a third consecutive week.

There is a virtually static top 6 with the Mark Wahlberg starring Patriots Day the top new film at 7.

On its third weekend at the top Lego Batman takes £2.8 million which brings its total gross in the UK to £23 million, compared to The Lego Movie this is still running a shade under.

The film took over £5 million for the period Monday - Sunday which made it the top film for the week as well.

A third weekend at number 2 is therefore in order for Fifty Shades Darker with £1.5 million for the weekend and £20.3 million in total.

With Sing, John Wick Chapter 2, Hidden Figures and The Great Wall all holding tight in the top 6 the highest new film is Patriots Day at number 7.

As mentioned, Patriots Day about the Boston Marathon bombing is the top new film and took £843,380 for the weekend and is one of the actors lowest debuting movies.

La La Land, which had a good, if confusing night at the Oscars this year, takes the honour of being the top total grossing movie this weekend with a total gross of £29 million and the longest running movie with a 7 week run.

The Lego Batman Movie may be beating Fifty Shades Darker in America and Europe but across the globe the latter is doing far better.

For a second week Fifty Shades Darker is the top movie of the week with a weekly gross of $64.6 million from 60 countries.

This brings the films total gross after a couple of weeks of release to $276.8 million, not too far behind the series first film.

Following on from its stablemate The Lego Movie from 3 years ago The Lego Batman Movie enters the UK box office at the top beating out Fifty Shades Darker in the process.
