Who doesn't like a good zombie movie? If thats you then Netflix today presents the first trailer for director Zack Snyder's new movie Army Of The Dead.

This is the first new movie from the director since the controversy and personal tragedy surrounding his time with the original theatrical version of Justice League.

It good to see Snyder move away from the DC Universe for a new movie and this looks fantastic, the movie is set in Las Vegas and is a heist movie mixed in with the zombie mayhem, all in the tradition of George A. Romero's Day Of The Dead.

The movie was shot entirely on digital and there is a real feeling of a video game look and feel in many parts of the trailer which is maybe intentional, but I can see myself reaching for the Playstation controller occasionally!

It also cant be ignored the parallels between the story of a disease dominating a large city and the current global pandemic, but maybe I'm reading more into it than necessary?

The movie hits Netflix on May 21st and wont be hitting cinemas, and on a side note we are also getting Zack Snyder's 4 hours cut of Justice League on HBO Max in the US and other streaming services worldwide on March 18th.

With the press tour and good reviews the new 2018 Halloween sequel dominates the US nox office on its debut weekend while A Star Is Born has to stay at 2 and Venom tumbles to 3.

Halloween

Its been 40 years since the first Halloween directed by John Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis stared in that film as a school girl terrorised by Micheal Myers, this film shows Myers coming back to terrorise her again and dragas her family along for the ride.

The film has had great reviews and makes its US debut at number 1 with $77.5 million, becoming the highest grossing debut for a horror film.

This will by far become the top grossing film in the series for which this is the 9th entry.

A Star Is Born

The film just can't make it to the top of the US box office and this week stays at number 3 for a third straight weekend.

This week it takes $19.3 million which boosts its total US gross to $126.3 million.

Venom

After 2 weeks at the top the Sony marvel movie falls to number 3 this week with 18.1 million to boosts its total to $171.1 million.

Goosebumps 2 Haunted Halloween

The Jack Black starring film falls to number 4 this week with $9.7 million which brings its total gross after 2 weeks to $28.8 million.

First Man

Perhaps performing not as well as expected the film falls to number 5 this week with $8.5 million, this brings the films total gross to $30 million.

This week the latest Marvel superhero makes its debut across the world at the top of the global box office.

Taking an incredible $260 million in its first week of release Deadpool storms the world box office in 62 countries.

The latest from the Marvel studio's proves that its not just Disney who can make superhero films and make money, 20th Century Fox can do it too.

Despite doing exceptionally well in China Kung Fu Panda 3 falls from the top of the world box office with a $34 million weekly gross, the film has taken $256 million to date.

Highest total grossing movie on the world box office this week, now that Star Wars: The Force Awakens has dropped to number 11 is The Revenant with $361 million.
