As expected the fourth chapter in the John Wick series of action movies makes its debut at the top of the US box office easily replacing Shazam! Fury of the God's at the top.
Creed III goes back up to number 2 this weekend which is a testement of how much Shazam! 2 is failing at the box office despite the positive reviews.
Falling to number 10 this weekend is Avatar: The Way of Water which has spend an amazing 15 weeks on the US box office and has taken an amazing $680.5 Million.
The Florence Pugh starring movie A Good Person is at number 12 with a debut gross of $834,018 and one place under is the long awaited US release of The Lost King which has an opening gross of $575,000.
Mopping up some final box office glory after its fantastic Oscar night is Everything Everywhere All At Once which is at 14 with $445,429 after an incredible 37 weeks on the box office and a total gross of $76.6 Million.
Highest new movie this weekend
Remaining at the top for a second weekend is the sequel movie Puss In Boots: The Last Wish while the top new movie of the weekend is Magic Mike's Last Dance.
Also new this week is the 25th Anniversary re-release of Titanic and animated tale Epic Tails which is at number 9 with £259,636.
Also new is Women Talking at 14 with a debut gross of £117,380.
Remaining at the top of the UK box office for a second weekend is the sequel movie from the Shrek universe which takes an excellent £3 Million pushing its total to nearly £10 Million.
The movie is doing far better than the original movie which had only taken £4 Million 2 weeks into its run.
Highest new movie this weekend
Highest new movie of the weekend is a third movie in the Magic Mike series which has Channing Tatum back as the male dancer.
The movie come in about the same as the previous movie Magic Mike XXL with £1.5 Million.
The movie should have gone direct to HBO Max but Warner Bros. wisely decided to release the movie in theatres.
Getting a re-release to celebrate its 25th Anniversary is James Cameron Oscar glory movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.
The movie had had a number of re-releases including a 3D version back in 2012, this version is in 3D and is a 4K remaster.
Starting its decent down the box office the sequel movie has had a fantastic run at the UK box office taking £74 Million during its 9 week run.
The third movie in the series is set for release in December 2024.
The M. Night Shyamalan directed movie falls to number 3 this weekend and will likely end up as the directors lowest grossing movie since The Sixth Sense.
Sequel movie Avatar: The Way of Water remains at the top of the UK box office for a third weekend as Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody comes in at number 2 on its debut.
Spending a third week on top of the UK box office is the sequel movie to Avatar which takes £7.6 Million, a 35% increase on its Christmas weekend total.
The movie has now taken a magnificent £44.9 Million at the UK box office after 3 weeks of release.
It is £12 Million ahead of Avatar at the same point of its run and for many years that was the top grossing movie of all time in the UK.
The movie is the 3rd top grossing film of 2022, but is fast catching Top Gun: Maverick and will likely be the top grossing movie released in 2022 before the end of its run.

The bio-pic of Whitney Houston starring Naomi Ackie and directed by Kasi Lemmons got released on Boxing Day this year and lands at number 2 on the UK box office.
The movie takes £3.3 Million on its debut despite getting quite a panning from critics.
The movie is looking for Oscar glory which if it achieves could boost the gross quite a but especially around the February window, and even more so if it wins!
Falling to number 2 this weekend is the musical version of the Roald Dahl story of Matilda which takes £2 Million over the New Year weekend, a 45% increase over last weekend.
The former number 1 movie has now taken £20.8 Million over its 6 weeks of release.
The sequel movie to Black Panther climbs back up the box office to number 4 this weekend with a gross of £436,156, a 54% increase over last weekend.
The movies weekend gross being so low and the movie still climbing to number 4 is a reflection of the current state of the box office and shows how much Avatar: The Way of Water is taking from the box office.
The movie has taken a total of £33.2 Million in the UK and is well below that of the first movie which had taken nearly £50 Million 8 weeks into its run.
Disney's latest animated movie, which had been considered a relative flop at the box officem, climbs to number 5 this weekend with a gross of £280,777, a 49% increase.
The movie has grossed a total of £3.1 Million at the UK box office which is about half that of Disney's previous movie Encanto.
