UK box office top 5 weekend breakdown 25th - 27th March 2022
Fourth weekend at the summit for the latest incarnation of the caped crusader as the movie takes £1.6 Million over the weekend, an acceptable 50% drop over last weekend.
The total gross of the film in the Uk now sits at £35.6 Million, it is the top movie of 2022 to date.
It will most likely be toppled from the top next weekend with 2 strong contenders hitting cinemas but this run for a DC superhero movie has been good and a sequel is already being planned.
Indian language movie have always done well in the UK and this new period movie from director S.S. Rajamouli is the top new movie of the weekend entering at number 2.
Taking £650,204 on its debut it has beat out a number of higher profiles movie, the distributer wisely chose to release the movie on a quiet weekend between Hollywood blockbusters.
Director Micheal Bay leaves The Transformers behind and brings to the cinema this hard hitting action drama starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

Critically panned the Catherine Tate starring movie drops to number 5 this weekend with a gross of £289,730, a 52% drop, giving it a £1.1 Million total.
The Russo Brothers who directed the last 2 Marvel Avengers movies, the second of which is the top grossing movie of all time, have teamed up with Spider-man Actor Tom Holland for their new movie Cherry.
The story centres around a war veteran who is struggling to re-establish himself into society and starts robbing banks.
A hard hitting drama the trailer looks at the romance in the story before then hitting you with the horrors of war and the reality of coming home after seeing things you never dreamed of.
Along side Holland is Ciara Bravo who is the love interest in a movie which is far removed from the Marvel Universe for both Holland and The Russo Brothers.
The movie gets a March 12th release on Apple TV.

We've looked at the films to be released in 2017 and found it a tough year to narrow down to 10 films, hence there are many potentially excellent films missed off this list.

Blade Runner 2049 - Its 35 years later, 35 years where a sequel has been promised many time, but here we are, the trailer released only a few weeks ago was a tantalising sample of what is to come.
No Ridley Scott this time but director Denis Villeneuve looks like he can deliver the good, and with Harrison Ford back and Ryan Gosling starring we could be in for a treat.
Star Wars Episode VIII - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story delivered but didn't wow but the follow up to 2015's Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens should deliver in spades and its possibly our most anticipated film of the year, and we have to wait until December!

Alien Covenant - Sequel to Prometheus and prequel to Alien, directed by Ridley Scott, not too much riding on this then.
Prometheus was Alien enough to be part of the series but individual enough to be a film in its own right, looking at the fist trailer for Alien Covenant this could bridge the gap really well, we hope so.
Fifty Shades Darker - The original film delivered far more than the source material dictated, and it was actually a good film, worryingly this time Sam Taylor-Johnson is not returning to direct.
James Foley is directing this instalment but Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are returning so the chemistry should still be there in this much darker tale.
The Mummy - A reboot of the 1999 franchise which spawned 3 movies, but got worse with each film, this time Tom Cruise stars and the first trailer looks like we could have a winner on our hands.
Pitch Perfect 3 - Our guilty pleasure, the first film was one of the highlights of 2012 and although not nearly as good part 2 was still a lot of fun, time will tell if the idea is getting a little thin now.
