The Creed franchise is now starting to get as many movies as the Rocky franchise which gave birth to it, but here we are with the third movie which makes an incredible debut with $58 Million.
The movie is directed by its star Micheal B. Jordan and with the film being well received by audiences a Creed IV may not be far behind, interestingly Rocky IV was one of that series most popular movies.
After a couple of weeks at the top the third in the Ant-Man series of movies falls to number 3 with a gross of $12.4 Million for the weekend.
The 'based on a true story' movie falls to number 3 this weekend after making its debut at number 2 with a weekend take of $11 Million, a large 52% drop.

The faith based movie has a decent second weekend on the US box office falling to number 5 with a 44% drop in weeeknd grosses for a total of $30 Million.
When the movie was first released it was a quirky movie about multiverse jumping, coinciding with the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, but here we are nearly a year later and the movie is doing well in the awards season and is nominated for 11 Oscars.
The movie is nominated in the following categories
Its good to see a movie like this getting recognition for its creative flair and anti-blockbuster independent look and feel.
Michelle Yeoh gets recognitions in a lead actress role although Cate Blanchett is also nominated for Tar and is the current favourite.
Jamie Lee Curtis gets her first ever nomination but Angela Bassett also get a nomination for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which is the current favourite.
Here is a list of all the movies up for best picture of the year
Its interesting seeing both Avatar: The Way of Water and Top Gun: Maverick on the list, 2 of the highest grossing movies of the last 12 months, Oscar does not normally award big budget, high grossing blockbusters, although neither will probably get the award!
In the lead actor category Colin Farrell gets a nod for The Banshees of Inisherin but the hot favourite is Brendan Fraser in The Whale who is the one to beat.
The most wide open category is best director which has no out and out leader, Steven Spielberg is an Oscar darling and must be a favourite for The Fabelmans, but then Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan must also be in with a shout for Everything Everywhere All at Once.
The ceremony takes place on Sunday March 12th and the full list of nomination can be found on the Oscars Website.
We all know there are no new big blockbusters coming out at the moment, and Tenet is still at the top for a 6th weekend, but comparing this to the amazing 6 week number 1 run of Joker from 2019 is unfair.
I suspect Tenet would not have been a 6 weeks number 1 under normal circumstances, 2 maybe 3 at the most, and although the total gross in the UK would have been in the £10 of million it would not have had the press the movie got.
Still we are where we are and its till the top film in the UK, and Cats & Dogs: Paws Unite! is the top new film at number 2!
Here is a quick look breakdown of this week top 15 box office.
Here is a breakdown of the top 5 movies in the UK 2nd - 4th October 2020.

Top new movies of the weekend is the third film in the Cats & Dogs series which takes £456.5K on its debut.
This is a movie very much aimed at children, can we expect a massive drop next weekend or will the current climate keep it in the top 5?
After a fantastic start to its box office run the Roger Kumble directed teen drama falls to number 3 this weekend with £390.2K, a drop of 24% from last weekend.
The movie has now taken quite an amazing £3.1 Million after 5 weeks of release.

The third Bill & Ted movie has had a hard time with its box office takings, but it does spend a third weekend on the chart this weekend with a gross of £146.5K, although this is a 32% drop from last weekend.
This gives the movie a 3 week total of just over £1 Million, not bad for a movie which can onto VOD day and date with cinema.
Both new releases in the top 5 this weekend were children's film and this Ute von Munchow-Pohl directed movie lands at 5 with £131.3K on its debut.
Warner Bros. have announced that the much anticipated Zack Snyder version of the DC universe Justice League will get a release on HBO Max in 2021.
It has become movie folk law that the version of Justice League that was released in 2017 was directed by Zack Snyder but due to personal reason he left the project before reshoots and editing and Joss Wehdon finished the movie.
When released the film was met with muted reviews, with some fans even hating the movie.
Since then there has been first rumours then evidence, then sort of confirmation that a version of the movie exists that was finished by Snyder himself.
A social media campaign has been going since to #releasethesnydercut appearing in the trending box on twitter on regular occations.
HBO Max is a new streaming service coming on May 27th, and here we are a week before the launch and Warner Bros. announces the almost legendary film will show on the service in 2021.
The news was given during an on-line participation by Snyder on Man Of Steel and it was received with massive appreciation from fans.
This is an interesting move and perhaps not a good one, with cinemas across the globe closed and wondering if they will ever recover this could have been a nice shot in the arm the industry may need.
Instead it will go to the platform which is in the short term going to damage the cinema industry, I hope we never get to a point when we don't have movie theatres to go to.
Bad Boys For Life spends another weekend at the top of the US box office while a new horror spin on the Grimm fairytale Hansel and Gretel gets the highest debut at number 4.
Three weeks ago no one would have thought the return of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence would have been such a big hit, and still be at the top of the box office, but here we are the the movie takes $17.6 Million, on a quiet Super Bowl weekend, to remain number 1.
This puts the movies total US gross at $148 Million and makes it the top grossing movie in the series to date.

This gives the movie a total gross of $119.2 Million after 6 weeks of release.
It was a quiet weekend at the box office and Dolittle remains at number 3 with $7.7 Million giving it a $55.2 Million total gross after 3 weeks of release.

The studios weren't going to release a tentpole picture over the same weekend of the most watched television event of the year and this horror re-telling of the Grimm fairytale fit the bill perfectly.
Falling to number 5 this weekend is Guy Ritchies latest movie which takes $6 Million on its second weekend of release pushing its total to $20.4 Million.
Its on its way out of the box office now but the Star Wars sequel movie is the top total grossing film on the box office with $507 Million over a 7 week release period.
