Remaining at the top of the US box office for a second weekend is the Brad Pitt starring Bullet Train while Top Gun Maverick climbs back to number 2 on its 12th weekend of release.

Highest new movie of the weekend is right down at number 10 as Fall~2022 makes its debut while Mack & Rita is new at 13 with $1,095,000 and ET The Extra Terrestrial gets a re-release and is new at 14 with $1,072,350.

US weekend box office top 5 breakdown 12th - 14th August 2022

Remaining at the top of the US box office for a second weekend is the Brad Pitt starring movie about the Japanese high speed train which take $13.4 Million, a large 55% drop.

The movie has taken a total US gross of $54.4 Million during its 2 weeks of release.

The movie of the summer is the sequel to the 1986 smash hit Top Gun and this weekend, on its 12th weekend of release, it climbs back to number 2 on the box office.

Part of he reason for this is the current lack of big new releases at the box office, this has given the sequel movie a chance to climbs back up from number 6.

The movie takes $7 Million this weekend, a small but significant 1% increase from last weekend which gives it a total US gross of $673.7 Million.

The movie is by far the top movie in the US of 2022 and as it keep climbing up the chart of top all time movies in the US it is currently number 7.

The animated DC Universe based movie from Warner Bros. falls to number 3 this weekend with $7 Million, a 37% drop over last weekend.

The movie has taken $58.1 Million over a 3 weekend release period.

The fourth in the Thor series of movies falls to number 4 this weekend with $5.3 Million, a 30% drop over last weekend.

After a 6 week run the movie has taken $325.4 Million and is the 6th top movie of 2022.

The lastest Jordan Peele directed movie falls to number 5 this weekend with $5.3 Million, a 37% drop over last weekend, giving the movie a total US gross of $107 Million.

This will be the lowest grossing movie from the celebrated director, but its good to see the movie break the $100 Million mark at the US box office.

Highest debut this weekend comes in at number 10 with the Scott Mann directed movie about 2 climbers who get stuck on top of a very tall mast.

The movie takes $2.5 Million on its debut which is a career high for the director.
