The Lego Batman Movie this week manages to hold on to the top spot at the UK box office, holding off Fifty Shades Darker, while John Wick Chapter 2 makes its debut at number 3.

With a £4.4 million weekend gross Lego Batman retains the number position in the UK for a second weekend.

The animated feature has now taken £17 million in the UK and is running just slightly behind the total gross of The Lego Movie.

Highest new film of the week is Keanu Reeves in John Wick Chapter 2 which makes its debut at 3 with £2.2 million.

Also a sequel but this time it is doing far better the its predecessor, John Wick made its debut in 2015 with just over half a million pound, so the sequel has done more than 4 times better.

Longest running film with 6 weeks and highest grossing film with £28 million is the Oscar laden film La La Land.

Five years ago - The Woman In Black stayed at the top for a second weekend while the top new film was the sequel movie Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance at number 3.

Ten years ago - Highly anticipated film Hot Fuzz made its debut at the top of the UK box office while Music and Lyrics fell to number 3.

Fifteen years ago - Making it two weeks at the top was Monsters, Inc. while top new film was Oceans Eleven at number 2.

Twenty years ago - Ransom stayed a the top of the UK box office while Fierce Creatures was the top new film at number 2.

Highest new film of the week is the romantic comedy How to Be Single starting Dakota Johnson and Rebel Wilson.

How to Be Single was released at the box office on 19th February 2016 where is entered the box office at number 3.

On its debut the film took a fairly respectable £1.8 million, for Johnson this is a bit below average for her film, but for Wilson its about bang on the money.

The film hung around the box office for 5 week and during that time it took £5.7 million is grosses, fairly average for a film of this type.

Also making their video debut this week are: Triple 9 at 4 and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies at number 6.

Disney this week unleash its latest film on the world box office on wide release and take over at the top.

The film was at number 3 last week with $30 million but goes into more countries this week including North America and takes $137.1 million from 46 countries.

This brings its total world box office gross to $232.5 million after a couple of weeks on release, and is on track to be another massive hit for Disney, positive reviews will have helped.

Deadpool this week falls from the top where it has been since release down to number 3 with $37.6 million this week from 74 countries, its total is now $673.1 million.

Deadpool is also the highest total grossing grossing film on the world box office.

Also new this week is: London Has Fallen at number 4 and Whisky Tango Foxtrot at number 7 after a quiet American release.

Yet again the Marvel superhero Deadpool is the top film across the world, this week with a weekly gross of $71.1 million dollars from 75 countries.

Now in its third week of release this film has taken a very impressive $609.7 million, Deadpool is also the highest total grossing film on the top 10.

Highest new film of the week is Gods of Egypt which on its debut weekend of release grosses $38.2 million from 69 countries.

Deadpool makes it 2 weeks at the top of the UK box office this week with yet another decent weekend gross.

£5.6 million is enough to keep it at the top of the tree which brings its total UK gross to £25 million after 10 days in cinemas.

Repeating last weeks top 2 Alving and the Chipmunks The Road Chip hangs on in the runner up spot for a second week.

Highest new film of the week is the female let comedy How To Be Single staring Dakota Johnson and Rebel Wilson.

The valentines day/date movie has an appeal for men but has a strong female appeal in direct competition to Deadpool, although that film does have a strong female appeal.

How To Be Single makes 3rd place on its debut with a fairly solid £1.8 million, although no-where near either leads last film of Fifty Shades of Grey and Pitch Perfect 2.

The only other new film on the top 10 is Triple 9 at number 6.

Highest total grossing film on the box office is still Star Wars: The Force Awakens which is at number 9 this week and has now taken £122 million.
