Cinemas are back open in the UK after nearly 5 months of being closed and there are a whole host of new releases this week to mark the occasion.

The end of the Skywalker saga remains at the top as the best selling video and top streaming movie of the week on its second week of release.

Jumanji: The Next Level

The Dwayne Johnson starring sequel remains at number 2 for a second week on its 4th week of release in the UK.

Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)

Top new movie of the week on on the home entertainment chart is the Margot Robbie vehicle and spiritual successor to Suicide Squad.

The movie hit cinemas early in February of 2020 where it made its debut at number 2, kept from the top by Dolittle.

The movie took £8.8 Million in the UK over a 5 week box office run while the film took $201.8 Million globally.

Spies In Disguise

Starring the voice talents of Will Smith and Tom Holland this animated feature released at the very end of December 2019 made its debut at number 6 on the UK box office.

The movie was on the box office for 7 weeks taking £7.6 Million in the UK while the film took £66.7 Million in the US.

Frozen II

The Disney sequel continues its home video run inside the top 5 this week, sitting at number 5 after 6 weeks of release.

After making its debit last week at number 2 the Dwayne Johnson starring sequel movie moves to the top of the home entertainment charts.

The movie was a big hit in the UK and US at the end of 2019 where it took nearly $800 Million globally.

Frozen II

Disneys smash hit sequel movie falls to to number 2 this week after sitting at the top for three weeks since its release.

Sonic the Hedgehog

Starring Jim Carrey along with a CGI blue hedgehog the movie is a video game adaptation from Sega's long running series which started in 1991.

The movie was a surprise smash at the box office in mid February and it took £18 Million in the UK and $146 Million in the US before the COVID-19 pandemic closed all cinemas.

Knives Out

Rian Johnsons smash hit movie falls to number 4 this week after 4 weeks on the home entertainment charts.

Trolls

Making a return to the top 5 this week as people reminds themselves of the movie before the sequel Trolls World Tour hits streaming this week.

The movie came out late in 2016 and was a big hit during its box office run where it took £24 Million over 14 weeks in the UK and took $344 Million globally.

With no box office charts being produced during the now global COVID-19 pandemic lets take a look at the home entertainment charts once again.

Frozen II unsurprisingly remains at the top, as it will do for the foreseeable future I expect, but we see a high new entry as Jumaji: The Next Level enters at number 2.

Brought onto streaming services ahead of schedule the smash hit theatrical hit follow up to Frozen remains at the top of the chart for a third week.

Jumanji: The Next Level

Released into theatres towards the end of 2019 the movie took an excellent £36 Million over 11 weeks of release hitting the top spot on its debut.

The film is the highest new entry on this week chart at number 2.

Knives Out

Rian Johnsons whodunnit movie starring Daniel Craig remains at number 3 this week as it spends a third week on the chart.

Bloodshot

Brought onto streaming services after only a week at the box office the film is a bit of a flop for Vin Diesel, this week the film remains at number 4 on its second weekend of release.

Le Mans '66

The Oscar nominated film falls to number 5 this week on its fourth week on the home entertainment chart.
