Meanwhile French comedy Les Tuche 4 from writer director Olivier Baroux made its debut at number 10 with $5.3 Million, an impressive feat considering its only released in France.

Global box office top 5 breakdown weekend 10th - 12th December 2021

Encanto

Three weeks at the top of the global box office for Disney's latest animated feature which take $23 Million over the weekend from 64 countries, a slim 31% drop over last weekend.

The movie easily beat the new release challenge from West Side Story and has a current total gross of $151.8 Million globally.

West Side Story

The new movie from Maverick director Steven Spielberg has been delayed by a year but its his first movie as director since 2018's Ready Player One.

His adaptation of the classic 1957 broadway show, and later adapted into a classic movie in 1961 directed by Robert Wise lands on the global box office at number 2 this week with $13.5 Million from 54 countries.

Although the movie got beaten by Disneys Encanto it is still to go as wide, although the top spot will be unachievable as Spide-Man: No Way Home gets its long awaited release this week and there is little change of this beating such a highly anticipated movie.

Schemes In Antiques

The Chinese only release from director Chi-Kin Kwok drops to number 3 this weekend with $14.6 Million, a 42% drop over last weekend.

The movie has now taken an impressive $51.6 Million over its 2 weekends of release.

House of Gucci

Remaining at number 4 this weekend is the Ridley Scott directed movie which takes $14.1 Million from 64 countries, a good 34% drop on its third weekend of release giving it a $93 Million total.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife

Falling to 5 this weekend is the Ghostbusters sequel which takes $13.5 Million from 54 countries on its 4th weekend of release, a 42% drop, giving it a total of $164.7 Million.
