World box office top 5 weekend breakdown 8th - 10th April 2022
After being beaten by Morbius last weekend the speedy blue video game hedgehog jump to the top of the global box office with ease this weekend having extended its country count to 54.
The movie takes $108 Million, a 76% increase, over the weekend pushing its total global gross to $141 Million after 2 weeks of release, it is the 9th top movie of 2022.
Getting a release in 22 countries the third in the Fantastic Beasts series of movies makes its debut at number 2 this weekend getting a release in 22 countries.
The movie takes a reasonable $58 Million on its debut, but with a release in countries like North America next weekend expect this to more than double and the movie to take over at the top.
Falling hard to number 3 this weekend is the Marvel/Sony vampire movie starring Jared Leto which takes $25.2 Million over the weekend, a hard 70% drop over last weekend.
This puts the movie total global gross at $126 Million after 2 weeks of release, this must be seen as a big disappointment for Sony, especially after the mega success of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Falling to number 4 on its 6th weekend of release the Caped Crusader takes $13 Million, a 46% drop over last weekend, the movie has taken a total of $735 Million.
The movie will fail to make $1 Billion, not too much of a surprise considering there is still a pandemic gripping the world and the Cinese release was far less than expected, but the movie is the top film of 2022 across the globe, so far!
The Michael Bay movie jumps to number 5 this weekend, from number 9, with $11.5 Million, a 75% increase over last weekend as the movie expands into 69 countries, this takes its total gross to $31 Million after 4 weeks of release.

The movie takes $85 Million globally on its debut from 63 countries, a figure reflective of the critical panning the movie got and the bad word of mouth.
This movie could be a mis-step for the successful Spiderverse movies and the almost guaranteed sequel must now be in question.
Released in 31 countries, presumably to stop a clash with Morbius in many territories, the blue hedgehog video game hero makes its debut at number 2 with $25.2 Million.
The movie gets a far wider release next weekend and its likely we'll see it climb to the top of the global box office.

The movie has been a major success for the DC universe and a sequel is all but guaranteed, but considering we just has Spider-Man: No Way Home almost hit $2 Billion globally Warner Bros. must be feeling a little upset the movie didn't get to go over the Billion milestone!
