Director Mike Leigh's latest film starring Timothy Spall about the painter J.M.W. Turner takes over at the top of the video chart on it's first week of release.

The film was released on 31st October 2015 and on it's first week entered the box office chart at number 7, after a flurry of good reviews and release in more cinemas the film ir number 2 the following week.

The film as a 5 week run inside the top 15 but has continued to pull in movie goers in the weeks following right up to it's release on home video.

During it's time at the box office it has taken a total gross (to date) of £7.7 million. In America it came out February 2015 and has taken $3.3 million so far.

Fury falls just the single place to number 2 this week after it's debut at the top.

A flurry of other new film this week include: Nightcrawler at 3, Pride at 4, Dying of The Light at 8 and Love Rosie at 12 .

This week war film Fury starring Brad Pitt takes over at the top of the UK box office on it's debut week of release.

A reasonably good weekend gross of £2.7 million sees then over take Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles after they spend just a single week at number 1.

Fury is already director David Ayer highest grossing film in the UK although for Brad Pitt it has a long way to go to beat the £25 million of Ocean's Eleven.

Fallling into second place after it's top spot debut last week, the Turtles manage to add £2 million to their gross bringing it to £7.9 after a second weekend of play.

Other new film on the top 15 this week are: The Book of Life at 4, Happy New Year at 8, Love Rosie at 9 and The Babadook at 10.

One year ago - This time last year Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 made it's debut at the top of the box office knocking Captain Phillips down just a single place to 2.

Five years ago - Up retained it's lead on the box office for a second week leaving the top new film to be Saw VI at two trying the capture the Halloween market.

Ten years ago - Sharks Tale spent another week at the top of the box office, AVP Alien Vs Predator was the highest new film at 2.

Fifteen years ago - Disney's Tarzan spent another week at the top and with a fairly static top 3 the highest new film was Steve martin and Eddie Murphy in Bowfinger at 4.
