For a second weekend Marvels Captain Marvel is the top film on the box office with animated feature Wonder Park the highest new film of the week.
The Marvel female led superhero movie does the double this week with a second weekend gross of $69.3 million keeping at the top of the box office.
This brings the films Brie Larson starring movie's total US gross to $266.2 million.
Highest new film of the week is the animated feature Wonder Park directed by Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec and Robert Gordonwhich which enters at number 2 with a debut gross of $16 million.
Also new this week is this drama from director Justin Baldoni which makes its debut at number 3 with $13.2 million over the weekend.
Still in the top 5 at number 4 this week the How To Train Your Dragon threequel takes $9.3 million to boost its gross to $135.6 million.
Rounding out the top 5 is Tyler Perrys hit comedy with his most popular creation Medea which takes $8 million this weekend boosting its total gross to $59 million.
Despite never having an impact outside of the US Tyler Perry is a massive star in America and his Medea films are box office hits, and this week his latest Boo2! A Madea Halloween hits the top spot.
Taking a reasonable $21 million this means that Perry has hit the US box office top spot with his last 6 film and the Madea films have taken close to a billion dollars in America.
New entry at number 2 is Geostorm, starring Gerrard Butler the film takes $13.3 million at the US box office on its debut.
Falling to number 3 from the top spot this week is Happy Death Day with a weekend gross of $9.4 million, this brings the films total US gross to $40.6 million after 2 weekends of release.
Longest running film and highest total grossing movie in the US this week is IT, 7 weeks in and $320 million in US takings.
At the US box office this week Tyler Perry's Boo! A Medea Halloween does the unthinkable and beats Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher Never Go Back to the top.
The Medea series has never taken off here in the UK but in America each film does well at the box office and Tyler Perry is a massive star.
Boo! goes the to the top on a very quiet weekend at the box office with a weekend gross of $27.6 million.
Falling from the top is The Accountant, now at number 3 with a weekend take of $14 million which brings the films total US gross to $47.9 million.
Also entering the chart this week is Jack Reacher Never Go Back at number 2 and Ouija Origin of Evil at number 3.
Its been a very quiet period on the US box office recently and the top total grossing film on the chart this week is Miss Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children with $74 million while the longest running film is Storks at 5 weeks.
