Ant-Man managed to beat off the new comedy starring Adam Sandler this weekend in a fairly tight battle for the top of the US box office but Ant-Man stays on top makes it 2 weeks at number 1

The tiny superhero movie took just shy of $25 million during its second weekend on the box office which brings the movies total after 10 days to $106 million, low for a Disney/Marvel movie but still a good total gross.

Pixels is the latest off beat comedy from Adam Sandler who's box office grosses have been slipping lately, this latest vehicle has him mixing 80's nostalgia which his brand of comedy for a fun but ultimately pointless movie.

A $24 million weekend sees it land into the runner up position, but it's not a convincing weekend and the film could slip out of the box office completely quite quickly.

Other new film which opened in the US this week are Southpaw which is new at at number 5 and Paper Towns making its debut at number 6.
