After all the controversy surrounding the new movie starring Florence Pugh and directed by and starring Olivia Wilde, Don't Worry Darling makes its debut at the op of the US box office.

Highest new movie this weekend
Despite the reports that have emerged over the months regarding the production of this much anticipated movie it manages to land at the top of the US box office on its debut.

Getting another cinema release in preperation for the sequel this December is the former highest grossing movie of all time in North America, which in a new 4K version lands at number 3 with $10 Million.
This is the movie 32 weekend on the North American box office and it is the 5th time it has has a re-release.
The movie has to date taken $771 Million at the US box office and is 4th top grossing movie in the US behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Low budget horror movies are the order of the day as Halloween approaches and the Zach Cregger directed movie drop to number 4 this week on its 3rd weekend of release with $4.8 Million, a small 28% drop over last weekend.
This gives the movie a total US gross of $28.4 Million over its 3 weeks of release.
Falling to 5 this weekend is another relatively low budget horror movie as the second film in the Ti West director X horror trilogy takes $2 Million on its second weekend, a 39% drop.
The movie has taken $6 Million after 2 weeks of release.
