The Scarlett Johansson starring movie remains at the top of the UK box office for a second weekend with £1.8 Million, a quite large 74% drop from last weekend.
This gives the movie a total UK gross of £11.2 Million after 2 weeks of release and its the fourth top grossing movie of 2021 so far.
Making its debut at number 2 this weekend is the sequel movie to 1996's Space Jam which took £1.3 Million over the weekend.
Compared to the original its far lower as the 1996 original took £4.6 Million on it's debut weekend, its a little unfair considering the global pandemic, but I would have thought this movie would have taken less regardless.
The fifth movie in the long running series makes its debut at number 3 with £720,032.
The highest grossing movie in the series is 2018's The First Purge which took £1.7 Million on its debut.
Another sequel hitting the box office this weekend is the animated sequel starring Nicolas Cage which makes its debut at number 4 with £696,563.
The original movie, The Croods was released in 2013 and took £5.3 Million on its debut, even considering the pandemic this is a disappointing debut for the sequel.
The ninth Fast movie falls to number 5, from 2, on its 4th weekend of release with a gross of £446,126, a large 59% drop.
This movie seems to be sinking faster than expected and after 4 weeks has taken £14.14 Million, although it is currently the second top grossing movie of 2021.
Released in the UK this weekend, Friday, 16th July 2021, there are 7 movies looking to take your viewing attention and where available could hit your local cinema and try and replace Black Widow from the top of the UK box office.
