Star Wars fans around the world have their opinion of what is the best lightsaber battle in the Star Wars Universe.
Here is a list of what is considered the best battles in the Star Wars Universe.
These battles are all unique and offer different elements, such as emotional stakes, intense action, and memorable choreography. Ultimately, the "best" lightsaber battle is subjective and varies depending on individual tastes and preferences, but on this Star Wars Day we present, for your pleasure, the Salty Popcorn best lightsaber battles (in reverse order).
There had been a Star Wars drought for a number of years (10) and with the buyout of Lucasfilms by Disney still fresh in everyones minds as well as the (at the time) a badly received prequel trilogy the fan base wanted a good Star Wars movie.
JJ Abrahams was put in charge of directing the film, a life long fan of the series, and he delivered in spades, bringing arguably the best Star Wars film to date.
We instantly took to the new characters of the Rebel Alliance with Rey and Finn and the First Order with Kylo Ren and the new Storm Troopers. Reys force powers were hinted at throughout the movie and a dual between the two was inevitable, and at the end of the film Abrahams delivered, set within a forest of the Star Killer Base while the planet explodes around them.
We knew Yoda was a Jedi Master and that he had fought in the Clone Wars that started during the second part of prequel trilogy, and George Lucas knew he had to deliver.
As Yoda walks into the hanger where Count Dooku was trying to board his ship you simply knew what was about to happen, and as he pulls across his robes to reveal a small lightsaber this was the moment, he force pulls his weapon to his hand and turns it on.
The battle doesn't last long, but seeing the small green Jedi Master who usually finds it hard to walk bouncing around the walls during the fight is a joy.
The original movie introduces us to the legendary weapon, something not really seen on the big screen before but through the stories Ben Kenobi tells Luke during the movie we know that the weapon is elegant and the Jedi are lethal with it.
We also believe at this time that Darth Vader is the arch enemy of Ben Kenobi, and by the end of the movie there has to be a meeting of the two, and while trying to escape the Death Star the two come face to face.
Despite the lack of technological abilities in special effects at the time this thrilled fans of a generation and when the inevitable happens at the end we are shocked at the loss of our new hero.
This battle comes as no surprise, we have seen Luke go through the training, and go off to rescue his friends, and we get the foreshadowing of things to come on Dagobah.
When Luke goes into the carbon freeze chamber and the two enemies ignite their Sabers in silhouette we get the almighty battle between the two enemies.
The style and technology used in this film is so much greater than that of the original Star Wars that it feels fresh and thrilling, and at the end of the battle we get one of cinemas greatest reveals, so good to this day it is celebrated as THE movie twist of all times.
The movie gets a lot of criticism, but over the last 20 years time has been kind and in the grander scheme of the saga the fan base is looking at this film more favourably, and it has the best lightsaber battle of all time.
It had been 16 years since we'd had any proper live action Star Wars to enjoy and despite the film not getting the critical reaction Lucas wanted the Dual Of Fates was spectacular.
The highlight is at the start of the battle as Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan face the Sith Lord Darth Maul, as the John Williams music 'Duel Of Fates' starts to get more intense Maul ignites a single blade on his lightsaber, then the money shot happens and another blade appears from the other side, every Star Wars Fan looked on in amazement as the incredible battle unfolds between the 3 warriors.
The only real shame is that, inevitably, Darth Maul dies at the end of the movie, although in quiet spectacular style, but with little screen time fans wanted more, although as seen in Solo: A Star Wars Story they have brought him back and who knows if he'll appear in another movie or not?
After bypassing a theatrical release, which upset a number of fans, the long awaited sequel Hocus Pocus 2 becomes the biggest debut for the streaming platform Disney+ to date.
The movie which is a follow up to the 1993 movie Hocus Pocus was released onto the platform on Friday 30th September and heads up their Halloween season.
The movie stars Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker who all reprise their roles as the Sanderson Sisters, a trio of witches who crave for the souls of children.
The original movie was not a hit on its release but has over the last 30 years become a massive hit raking up views over the October Halloween season each year.
It's a shame than the movie never got a theatrical release as cinemas are struggling for big hits at the moment as there has not been an event movie released in a long time, this would have had a £3 - £5 Million debut easily.
Disney seems intent on pushing its streaming service which new movies like this and its 150 Million + subscribers makes it one of the largest streaming platforms.
Thank you to the magical Hocus Pocus community for making #HocusPocus2 the #1 film premiere on #DisneyPlus to date! pic.twitter.com/mGRbScYHzf

Star Wars fans around the world have their opinion of what is the best lighsaber battle in the Star Wars movie franchise, so on this Star Wars day at 25thframe.co.uk we though we would give our opinion of what we think is the best battle seen on screen in the ever growing list of movies.

This battle comes as no surprise, we have seen Luke go through the training, and go off to rescue his friends, and we get the foreshadowing fof things to come on Dagobah.
When Luke goes into the carbon freeze chamber and the two enemies ignight their sabers in low light we get the almighty battle between the two enemies.
The style and technology used in this film is so much greater than that of the original Star Wars that it feels fresh and thrilling, and at the end of the battle we get one of cinemas greatest reveals, so good to this day it is celebrated as THE movie twist of all times.

The big budget movie from Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan, Tenet, remains at the top of the box office in a market still struggling to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, and the figures are suggesting people are still not ready to go back to the movies!
Although Tenet is at the top the movie at number 2, After We Collided, is showing incredible business as it gives the number 1 movie a run for its money.
The top new movie of the week, the third Bill & Teds movie seems a bit of a foot note which is a real shame for the beloved characters, and the film has been given a VOD release along with its theatrical debut.
Its also worth noting that this is the first weekend since cinemas started re-opening that there is not a 'catalogue' film on the chart.
Here is the UK box office top 5 rundown 18th - 20th September 2020.
Four weeks on an the 'saviour of cinema' hasn't exactly lived up to its promise and takes under a million with £796.3K, down 35% from last week.
The movie has now made a total of £13.8 Million, not great for such a high budget movie and with tighter restrictions starting to hit the UK again it future is uncertain.
A move to VOD could be on the cards soon, but as Onward has shown films can still make money at the box office while available to view at home.
Remaining at number 2 this week is director Roger Kumble low budget movie which has gone from strength to strength as its theatre count has increased.
This weekend the movie took £598.2K which is up 26% from last weeks gross and 3 weeks in it has taken a total of £1.7 Million.
Highest new entry of the weekend lands at number 3 as the Wyld Stallyns try to write their world changing hit!
The Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter starring movie lands with a weekend gross of £462K, far lower than expected and hindered by the pandemic and the VOD dual release.
Its unfair to compare movies in the current box office climate but Bill & Teds Bogus Journey debuted in January 1992 at number 1 with £2.7 Million on its way to £5.4 Million.
A yearly event, musician André Rieu releases his latest Event Cinema concert which makes its debut at number 4 this week with a weekend gross of £124.1K.
Again its unfair to compare but his last release from January this year, André Rieu: 70 Years Young, entered the box office at 6 with £1.4 Million.
Falling to number 5 this week is Disneys ill fated Mutant movie which takes £106.1K over the weekend, down 47%, for a £1.3 Million total.
As you would expect the saviour of cinema is still the top movie of the week, and unlike last weekend Warner Bros. have released more accurate figures for the weekend gross this time.
Last weekend Warner Bros. only released the total gross for the movie, which included 7 days extra of Canadian release and preview figures for the American release, although to be honest this is nothing new!
Further down the box office list the top 3 movies stay the same while The Broken Hearts Gallery is the top new movie of the weekend and all but 1 of the top 5 grosses over a million for the period.
Here is a rundown of the top 5 movies in North America 11th - 13th September 2020.
Christopher Nolan's much praised, and much disliked, movie spends a second weekend at number 1 with a gross of $6.7 Million, which when compared with last weekends real figure of $9.5 Million as released by Warner Bros. this isn't too bad a drop.
This of course is under unusual circumstances as many cinemas in America are still closed and many more people still dont want to go to the cinema due to health concerns, couple this with the limited capacity and you get a clear picture of how the grosses are working in the current climate.
This has though pushed the movies total North American gross to $29.5 Million over its 2 weekends of release.
Hanging on in second place is Disney's mutant movie which this week takes $2.09 Million in the US.
The movie has a total gross of $15.3 Million after 3 weeks of release.
The Russel Crowe starring movie remains at number 3 taking $1.5 Million over the weekend which gives it a 5 week total gross of $13.8 Million.
Highest new movie of the weekend lans at number 4 and is Natalie Krinsky directorial debut.
The movie takes $1.1 Million on its debut, which is perhaps a little lower than expected especially in the current climate and the romantic escapism the movie offers.
The third Bill And Ted movie falls to number 5 this weekend with $292.6K bringing its 3 week box office total to $2.8 Million.
This has been a real shame for the movie which got a release on streaming the same time as a theatrical release and will have basically destroyed its potential box office gross.
