Event movie Coldplay - Music of the Spheres: Live Broadcast From Buenos Aires is the only other new entry on the top 15 movies this weekend at number 11 with $1,015,000.

US weekend box office top 5 breakdown 28th - 30th October 2022

After hitting the top of the North American box office on its debut the Dwayne Johnson starring movie remains there for a second weekend with $27.4 Million, a hefty 59% drop over last weekend.

This gives the movie a total US gross of $110.9 Million in North America as it passes the one hundred million milestone after 2 weeks of release.

The George Clooney and Julie Roberts starring movie must be the sleeper hit of the summer as the movie continues to do well in North America after its success across the rest of the world.

This weekend the movie takes $9.8 Million which is a 40% drop over last weekend giving it a $33 Million total after 2 weeks fo release.

Highest new movie this weekend

The highest new entry this weekend comes in at number 3 as the Halloween season start to conclude we get this horror movie from director Daniel Stamm.

The movie makes its North American debut with a gross of $7.1 Million, not bad for a very low budget film but it could almost sink without trace by next weekend.

The horror movie of the season falls a single place this weekend to number 4 as it fails to capitalise on the Halloween season.

With a weekend gross of $5.4 Million, a 36% drop over last weekend, the film has been far from a flop as its total gross rises $92 Million.

It is chasing the one hundred million milestone which the movie may struggle with now the horror season is over and done with.

The last of the current Halloween trilogy struggles to make a mark at the box office as its falls to number 5 5 this weekend with $4 Million, a 49% drop.

This gives the movie a US total gross of $60 Million after 3 weeks of release.

Starring Dwayne Johnson Black Adam, the latest superhero movie from the DC Universe stable of films hits the top of the UK box office on its debut weekend.

Irish friendship drama The Banshees of Inisherin is new at number 2, while outside the top 5 there is a new entry for Chinese drama Decision to Leave which enters at 6 with £410,107.

Highest new movie this weekend

Starring Dwayne Johnson in the title role the latest movie from the Warner Bros. DC Extended Universe of movies makes its debut at the top of the box office.

The movie makes its debut with a gross of £1.6 Million which is lower that The Batman from earlier this year, but this is a new IP and that was from one of the longest renning series of movies starring a DC superhero.

The movie has little competition in the coming weeks but come 11th November it we get the Black Panther sequel!

Starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson this lighthearted drama about friendship comes from the director who brought us the critically acclaimed In Bruges

The movie lands at numebr 2 this weekend with an incredible gross of £1.6 Million, quite a bit higher that In Bruges which took £343,760 on its debut, that movie was a bit of a sleeper hit and went on the take £4.7 Million over 15 weeks.

After making its debut at the top last weekend the childrens book brought to the big screen by directors Josh Gordon and Will Speck falls to number 3.

The movie takes £1.4 Million on its second weekend of release, a 48% drop over last weekend giving the movie a UK total of £4.9 Million.

The horror movie of the moment falls to number 4 this weekend with a gross of £996,477 on its 4th weekend, this is a 30% drop over last week.

THe movie has now taken an amazing £9 Million in the UK as it get close to the £10 Million milestone.

It will most likely see a bump in taking next weekend as the Halloween season is in full swing and audiences are looking for the scare over the weekend.

The last in the last trilogy of Halloween movies falls to number 5 this weekend with £703,338, a large 67% drop over last week.

The movie now has a total UK gross of £3.6 Million, and despite the fact it could get a boost from the Halloween season next week it will finish off its box office run the lowest of this trilogy of movies.

With no surprise Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness is at the top for a second weekend as we wait for the next high flying blockbuster hot his cinemas.

US box office top 5 weekend breakdown 13th - 15th May 2022

Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness

The Marvel sequel movie stays put at the top of the US for a second weekend, but as nearly always happens with massive opening movies the drop is large, and Doctor Strange 2 suffers a 67% drop over last weekend.

The movie does take $61.8 Million over the weekend which is still a massive 68% of the total box office this weekend.

A total US gross of $291.8 Million makes it the second highest grossing movie of 2022 with a chance to beat The Batman by next weekend.

The Bad Guys

Former number 1 animated movie stays put at number 2 this weekend with $6.8 Million, a small 28% drop over last weekend.

The movie has now taken a $66 Million total after 4 weeks of release.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2

The video game adaptation remains at number 3 this week taking $4.5 Million in its 6th weekend of release, a tiny 25% drop over last week.

The movie has been an unprecedented success for the franchise and shows when done right a video game adaptation can do well.

The movie has taken $175.7 Milion at the US box office and is the 4th highest of 2022.

Firestarter

Categories under 'remakes no one wanted' as this retelling of the 1984 Firestarter starring Drew Barrymore makes its debut at number 4 with a debut gross of $3.8 Million.

The movie is also available in the US on streaming meaning that the box office run for this movie will be short.

Everything Everywhere All At Once

It may not be able to compete with the behemoth that is the MCU and Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness but this independent multiverse bending movie has, by figures, done better.

With a budget a fraction of the Doctor Strange sequel this has taken a total of $47.1 Million and turned into a but sleeper hit for the studio.

After 8 weeks of relese the movie still manages a weekend take of $3.3 Million, a tiny 6% drop over last weekend, and it is only showing in 1,726 location as opposed to the number 1 movies 4,534 locations.

Remaining at the top for a second weekend is the hit movie The Batman which despite a 50% drop this week still far out grosses the rest of the box office.

Top new movie of the weekend is the South Korean pop group with their latest concert movie BTS Permission to Dance On Stage - Seoul: Live Viewing which is new at number 3.

Also new on the top 10 this weekend is Indian movie Radhe Shyam which makes its debut at number 7 with $1.8 Million.

US box office top 5 weekend breakdown 11th - 13th March 2022

The Batman

A good second weekend for the DC Universe movie which remains at the top of the US box office with a 20% drop over last weekend to $66.5 Million taking its total gross to $239 Million.

This kind of drop is fairly common for a movie with such a front loaded fan base who rush out on the first weekend, although the movie still takes 65% of this weekends total box office top 15.

The film does take the honor this weekend over overtaking Spider-Man: No Way Home as the top grossing movie of 2022.

Uncharted

Another weekend at number 2 this week for the Tom Holland starring movie which takes $9.2 Million on its 4th weekend of release, an incredibly low 17% drop over last week.

The movie has now taken $113.3 Million in the US and is the 3rd top movie of 2022, and could overtake the other Tom Holland movie Spider-Man: No Way Home before it finished its run.

BTS Permission to Dance On Stage Seoul: Live Viewing

Highest new movie this weekend is the single day performance from the hottest band around, BTS take their broadcast of their latest concert into the top 5 at number 3.

The event movie takes $6.8 Million which is an incredible feat considering it was only available for a single day broadcast, and incredibly it is the 18th top movie if 2022.

The movie far out did the bands previous event Love Yourself In Seoul: BTS World Tour 2019 which took just $3.5 Million in 2018.

Dog

The Channing Tatum sleeper hit falls to number 3 this weekend with $5.2 Million in its 4th week of release, a very low 15% drop.

The movie has now taken $47.6 Million on the US box office and is the 7th top movie of 2022.

Spider Man: No Way Home

The Marvel/Sony MCU movie has now been on the box office chart for 13 weeks and this weekend takes $4 Million, a very low 10% drop over last weekend.

The movie has now taken an incredible $792.2 Million in the US over its 13 weeks and has been on the top 5 for all of that.

The film is now the 2nd top movie of 2022 having been overtaken by The Batman this weekend, but it is the 3rd top movie of all time, and is less than $100 Million away from Avengers: Endgame which is at number 2.

Starring Lady Gaga and Adam Driver House of Gucci remains on top of the UK box office for a second weekend while the top new movie is the Event feature Christmas with Andre at number 4.

Making its debut lower down the box office is Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City which makes its debut at 8 with £253,199 and Dziewczyny Z Dubaju which is new at 10 with &pond;204,458.

Worth noting this week is that the Bond movie No Time To Die spends its first weekend outside the top 5 since its release 10 weeks ago.

House of Gucci

The Ridley Scott directed movie based on the true life story of the Gucci family spends its second weekend at the top with a gross of £1.5 Million, a slim 38% drop over last weekend.

This gives the movie a total UK gross after 2 weekends of £5.5 Million.

Encanto

Disney's latest animated adventure climbs this week to number 2 with a second weekend gross of £1.2 Million, a very slim 26% drop over last weekend.

The movie has now takem £3.3 Million in the UK after 2 weekend and with the school Christmas holidays nearly here and good word of mouth this could be a bit of a sleeper hit for the studio.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife

The Ghostbusters sequel movie falls to number 3 this weekend with a gross of just over £1 Million, a 49% drop over last week.

The movie has now taken £9.1 Million over 3 weekends on release and the movie is keeping just a slither above the 2016 reboot with had taken £9 Million 3 weeks into its run.

Christmas With Andre

Violinist Andre Rieu invites us to his annual Christmas concert in this 2 day Event cinema spectacle which this weeks lands at number 4 with a weekend gross of £693,676.

The Andre Rieu concerts are no stranger to the UK box office with his biggest hit to date being AndreRieu's 2019 Live New Year Concert From Sydney from 2019 which took £1.7 Million.

Eternals

The Chloe Zhao directed Marvel movie falls to number 5 this week with £318,717 on its 5th weekend of release, a 46% drop over last weekend, and now has a total UK gross of £14.4 Million and is the 9th top movie of 2021.
