The power of Bohemian Rhapsody was too strong for any new comers as the Queen film stays at the top of the UK box office for a second weekend.

Bohemian Rhapsody

After the excellent £9 million debut last weekend there is no surprise that it manages a second weekend at the box office summit.

Posting a second weekend gross of £5.7 million the Bryan Singer directed film may not have been a hit with the critics but is proving to be popular with the paying public.

The films total UK gross now sits at an incredible £20.4 million after 10 days of release.

A Star Is Born

The Lady Gaga starring film is proving to be a bigger hit in the UK than many other parts of the world as the film spends another week at number 2 taking £1.8 million after 5 weeks of release.

The film which currently has the number single in the UK and the number 1 album has now taken £22.9 million.

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms

Disney gets Christmas stared with the release of the popular story often performed as a ballet this time of year and it snaggs the highest new film at number 3.

The film takes a reasonable £1.7 million on its debut weekend of release.

The animated family film stays at number 4 this weekend £1.1 million which brings its total UK gross to £10.1 million.

Johnny English Strikes Again

Still holding strong at number 5 this week the film has a 5th weekend gross of just over £1 million which brings its total to £16.3 million.

Hotel Transylvania 3 Summer Vacation

Still hanging onto the charts as we enter the holiday season the film has notched up 15 week on the UK box office.

Slaughterhouse Rulez

Further down the chart at number 9 is the new Simon Pegg starring movie which makes its debut this weekend with a £400,00 gross.

Peterloo

Another film worth mentioning makes its debut at number 3 this week in the shape of Mike leigh's latest which opens with £350,000.

The bio-pic of Freddy Mercury and Queen makes its debut at the top of the UK box office knocking A Star Is Born to the runner up spot after 2 weeks at number 1.

Bohemian Rhapsody

Taking over at the top with a fantastic opening weekend of £9.5 the film starring Rami Malek wowed UK audiences but didn't please all critics.

This opening puts the film in the top 100 opening weekends in the UK ever at number 90, one below The Secret Life Of Pets and one above Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

For the stars this will be by far their biggest movie to date, for director Bryan Singer it needs to beat all the X-Men movies he has directed the highest of which is X-Men Days Of Future Past, but don't rule it our just yet.

A Star Is Born

Being dumped down from the top to the number 2 position is the Lady Gaga starring movie which takes £2.1 million on its 4th weekend of release.

This brings the films total UK gross to and very good £19.2 million, the 14th highest grossing movie of 2018.

Halloween

The Jamie Lee Curtis starring movie topped the charts in many places around the globe last week, except in the UK where it landed at number 2, this week it falls to number 3 with £1.6 million to brings its total to £5.8 million after 2 weeks.

Hanging on for another weekend the family animation takes £1.5 million for a UK gross of £7.7 million.

Johnny English Strikes Again

The Rowan Atkinson comedy closes out the top 5 at the film beins to fall down the chart but takes £1.5 million on its 3rd weekend for a £14.1 million total.

With the fright season upon us now the world wanted to be scared and took in Halloween to keep it at the top for a second week with Bohemian Rhapsody the top new film

Halloween

For the second week running the Jamie Lee Curtis starring film tops the global box office, released in 63 countries the film takes $57.6 million this week.

This boosts the films total global gross to $172.3 million and it is by far the most successful film in the series.

A Star Is Born

Still hanging in there is the Bradly Cooper directed and starring film which this week takes $31.7 million from 76 countries, this boosts the film global gross to $253.3 million.

Venom

The Sony villain film is still at number 3 this week and takes $28.1 million from 66 countries to boost its total cume to $508 million, taking another Marvel film past the half billion mark.

Smallfoot

The animated family comedy is still holding onto a top 5 spot and this week takes $22 million from 79 countries for a $167 million global gross.

The film has the biggest country count on this week global box office.

The Predator

The alien hunter movie moves back to number 5 this week with a global gross of $20.7 million from just 21 countries, the films total gross is now $62.5 million.

Bohemian Rhapsody

Highest new film of the week is the Queen/Freddy Mercury bio-pic which has been released in just 2 countries and takes $12.2 million.

The Bryan Singer directed movie expands this weekend in the US market where Queen had a big following.

There was no stopping Michael Myers attacking Jamie Lee curtis across the globe the week and the Halloween sequel dominates the global box office on its debut week of release.

Halloween

40 years afte the events of the original Halloween Micheal Myers has come back to haunt Jamie Lee Curtis, and this time he drags her family along for the ride.

The horror film makes its global debut with $91.8 million and it was released in 24 countries making a per terretory average of $3.8 million.

Venom

Sony's Marvel connection is still proving strong and their anti-hero is still showing his teeth across the globe at number 2 where the parasite takes $50.4 million from 66 countries, the film has now taken $461 globally.

A Star Is Born

Bradly Cooper and Lady Gaga just can't get a break and fall to number 3 this week with $42.1 million from 76 countries pushing the films global gross to $201 million.

First Man

The film about Neil Armstrong takes $22 million this week from 48 countries, the film starring Ryan Gosling has now taken $55 million.

Holding onto the number 5 slot for one more week the animated comedy takes $20.6 million this week from 72 countries for a total global gross of $137 million.
