The third Jurassic World movie makes its debut a the top of the UK box office with an excellent gross of over £12 Million.

Further down the box office Ante Sundaraniki is new at number 10 with £73,822 and All My Friends Hate Me is also new at number 12 with £42,888.

UK weekend box office top 5 breakdown 10th - 12th June 2022

Jurassic World Dominion

The third and last of the Jurassic saga hits the UK box office with a debut gross of £12.1 Million which takes it to the top of the box office.

In comparison to the other two movies in this trilogy it is the lowest with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom taking £14 Million in its debut in 2018 and Jurassic World taking nearly £20 Million in 2015.

The new movie blends the characters from the closing trilogy with the 'classic' characters from the Jurassic park series.

Jurassic Park III, the equivalent movie in that series, took £4 Million on its debut in 2001 which adjusted for inflation is about £8 Million.

Top Gun Maverick

The high flying sequel movie starring Tom Cruise drop to number 2 this weekend after a couple of weeks at the top with a gross of £5.5 Million on its 3rd weekend, a 46% drop.

This brings the movie total gross to £50 Million, giving the movie another milestone passed, and it is now the top movie of 2022.

Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness

The MCU sequel movie drops to number 3 with a gross of £398,401, a big 65% drop over last weekend, taking movies total gross to £41 Million after 6 weeks of release, it is the second top grossing movie in 2022.

Everything Everywhere All At Once

The indie multiverse movie starring Michelle Yeoh climbs back up the box office from number 7 to number 4 with a weekend gross of £205,252, a 45% drop over last weekend.

The movie has now taken £4.4 Million on its 5 week UK run.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2

The video game hedgehog falls to number 5 this weekend on its 11th weekend of release with £181,694, a 60% drop, giving the movie a £26 Million total making it the 6th top movie of 2022.

Tom Cruise retains his lead over the UK box office as Top Gun Maverick retains its position at the top with a massive second week hold.

The Alex Garland directed movie Men is the top new movie of the weekend at number 3 while Vikram is also new at number 6 with £399,425, Major is new at 11 with £55,430, Prithviraj is new at 13 with £54,910 and the controversial The Lady of Heaven makes it onto the top 15 with £44,011.

UKwide weekend box office top 5 breakdown 3rd - 5th June 2022

Top Gun Maverick

The high flying sequel movie spends a second weekend at the top of the UK box office with a jaw dropping second weekend take of £10.3 Million, a very small 35% over its massive debut last weekend.

This gives the Tom Cruise starring movie a total Uk gross of £38 Million after just 10 days of release which makes it the 3rd top movie of 2022, it will be the top movie of the year by next weekend.

The movie takes an amazing 71% of this weeks top 15 movies, down only a little from last weekend where it took 81% of the total box office.

The movie is out doing the previous movie even when taking inflation into consideration and at its current rate its not hard to imagine it becoming one of the top 10 movies of all time.

Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness

The MCU sequel movie holds onto to its place at number 2 this weekend where it took £1.15 Million, a small 16% drop.

5 weeks on and the movie has taken £40.7 Million and is the 3rd top movie of 2022.

Men

Highest new movie of the weekend if the new movie from celebrated director Alex Garland making its debut at number 3 this week with £519,907.

There is a bug gap between the secodn and third movie this weekend and with a number of bug new released coming in the weeks ahead this movie could drop of the box office quickly.

The most successful video game movie in the UK goes back up the box office this weekend from 6 to 4 with a weekend gross of £456,187.

This is an increase of 39% over last weekend and gives the movie a total gross of £26.1 Million after 10 weeks of release and is the 5th top movie of 2022.

The Bad Guys

The animated smash hit movie goes back to number 5 from last weeks 7 with a gross of £403,176, a massive 51% increase over last weekend.

This gives the movie a total UK gross of £12.9 Million after 10 weeks of release.

Three weeks at the top for Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness ahead of a big weekend of new releases coming up this Friday which will see Top Gun: Maverick and The Bobs Burgers Movie hit cinemas.

With the impending explosion at the box office holdovers filled a majority of this weeks top 15 with the highest debut coming in at 8 as Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 takes £123,160.

Coming in at 9 is the encoure versions of the one day event movie Twenty One Pilots Cinema Experience which took £114,873 and just below at 11 is Benediction which took £100,635, and finally in the top 15 is the event movie Lucia Di Lammermoor: Met Opera 2022 which took £78,828.

Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness

The MCU hit movie remains at the top of the UK box office for a third weekend with a weekend gross of £3 Million taking its total to £35 Million after 3 weeks.

This weekend gross is a 48% drop over last weekend and although the movie has not grossed anywhere near that of the previous MCU movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home it has already far outgrossed the £23 Million of the first Doctor Strange from 2016.

The movie is the second top grossing movie of 2022 and should move into first place by next weekend replacing The Batman.

Everything Everywhere All At Once

After the excellent word of mouth and reviews of the Michelle Yeoh starring movie it jumps up the box office with a weekend gross of £839,974 taking its total UK gross of £1.9 Million after 2 weeks.

The weekend gross is an amazing 19% increase over its debut weekend and although next weeks releases will effect the movies takings this has long box office run written all over it.

Downton Abbey: A New Era

Falling to number 3 this weekend is the sequel movie based on the stately home in England with took £757,303 over the weekend, a 22% drop.

The movie has now taken £12 Million in the UK after 4 weeks and although it running behind that of Downton Abbey from 2019 this is still not a bad post COVID total and should seal the movie a third outing.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2

The little blue hedgehog this week spends its 8th weekend on the box office with a weekend take of £423,552, a small 19% drop over last weekend, especially good considering the age of the movie.

The movie has taken £24 Million in total and is the 5th top movie of 2022, and it has now beaten Uncharted to become the top grossing video game adaptation in the UK, an honor Uncharted recently took from the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie.

The Lost City

The Sandra Bullock action comedy spends a 6th weekend on the box office, and goes back up the chart into the top 5 with £357,144, a 3% increase.

The movie has now taken an excellent £9.8 Million in the UK and will pass the £10 Million milestone by next weekend.

Sitting at the top of the North American box office for a third straight weekend is the latest MCU movie event which this weekend takes $31.6 Million, a 49% drop over last weekend.

The movie has now taken a huge $342 Million in total in the US, which far outstips the total US gross of the first movies $232.6 Million.

The movie has also this weekend taken over as the top movie of 2022 in North America.

Downton Abbey: A New Era

Making its debut at number 2 this weekend is the sequel to the 2019 movie Downton Abbey which was the first big screen outing of the much loved TV show.

The sequel takes $16 Million on its debut which is half that of the original movie, a sign of diminishing returns.

It would seem that the only series of movies which bucks the trend of sequels not doing as well as the original is anything Disney release in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, even the sequel trilogy of Star Wars movies took less as each movie was released!

The Bad Guys

The DreamWorks animated hit movie falls to number 3 this weekend with $6 Million, a small 13% drop over last weekend, giving the movie a US total gross of $74.3 Million after 5 weeks of release.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2

The blue hedgehog and friends fall a single place to number 4 this weekend with $3.9 Million, a small 15% drop over last weekend, giving the movie a total gross of $181 Million.

The movie is the 4th top grossing film of 2022 in the US.

Men

Finally on the top 5 and making its debut is the latest film from celebrated director Alex Garland which takes $3.2 Million in its debut.

The directors last movie Annihilation which starred Natalie Portman made its debut in February 2018 and took $11 Million on its first weekend of release.

Three weeks at the top now for the Marvel sequel as the movie's global gross over the $800 Million mark on its way to a potential $1 Billion.

This weekend the movie took $71.6 Million from 50 countries which is a drop of 50% on its third weekend of release.

As mentioned there is a stong chance the movie could go over the $1 Billion mark in the coming weeks and the be first 2022 release to manage the milestone.

The movie is the top grossing film of 2022 this weekend taking over from The Batman.

The Roundup

Directed by Lee Sang-yong and starring Ma Dong-seok, this is a Korean action movie which has been released in 2 territories this weekend and still managed to enter the global box office at number 2.

The movie takes $23.7 Million on its debut weekend.

Downton Abbey: A New Era

The British high society drama gets its North American debut this week and goes back up the global box office to number 3 with a gross of $19.5 Million, a massive 82% increase, from 54 countries.

This gives the sequel movie a total global gross of $51.7 Million after 4 weeks of release.

The Bad Guys

The animated hit from the DreamWorks animated studio takes $12,7 Million over its 10th weekend of release from 69 countries.

The movie falls to 4th place this weekend and has now taken $182 Million globally at the box office.
