Dune: Part Two spends its third weekend at the top of the UK box office this weekend as its total gross raises to over £26 Million with a £4 Million third weekend.
This makes the movie the top grossing movie of 2024, it overtakes the other Timoth�e Chalamet movie from late last year Wonka.
With no major new releases this weekend the rest of the top 5 either stay put or change places slightly, with the top new movie coming in at number 6.
Drive-Away Dolls, a solo effort from diretor Ethan Coen, who normally directs with his brother Joel, lands with a debut gross of £278,082 .
Released in the US this weekend, Friday, 20th October 2023, there are 7 new releases looking to take your attention and where available could hit your local cinema and try and replace Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour from the top of the North American box office.

The long awaited sequel to the top grossing movie of all time, Avatar: The Way of Water has been given a 12A age rating in the UK for moderate violence, threat, injury detail, infrequent strong language.
Back from the first movie is stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana who reprise their roles from Avatar, they are joined by Kate Winslet who was also in director James Camerons Oscar winning blockbuster Titanic.
The movie is one again directed by James Cameron who is returning to the directors chair for the first time since Avatar in 2009 but is of course known for directing The Terminator and its sequel Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

In a very quiet week for the box office with no major new releases, director Jessica M. Thompson hits the top of the North American charts with The Invitation on its debut weekend.
Veteran director George Miller disappoints with his latest movie Three Thousand Years of Longing starring Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba which comes in at number 7 with $2.8 Million and John Boyega stars in the new entry at 15, Breaking which takes just over $1 Million.
A re-release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story also makes an re-entry at 13 with $1.1 Million.
Highest new movie of the weekend
With no major new releases out again this weekend halloween seems to have started early as this new horror movie from director Jessica M. Thompson hits the top spot on its debut.
The movie takes $7 Million on its debut weekend, and with little in the way of new movies in the coming weeks, and the halloween season fast approaching this could be a mainstay into October.
Taking advantage of the lack of but new movies the Brad Pitt starring vehicle jumps back up to number 2 this weekend with $5.6 Million, a 30% drop from last weekend.
This gives the train movie a total US gross of $78.2 Million over its 4 weeks of release.
The movie which stars Idris Elba punching a killer lion falls to 3 this weekend with $4.9 Million, a large 58% drop on its second weekend of release.
The movie has now taken $20 Million at the North American box office, this should have been a bigger hit for the star who is a box office pull these days but the marketing for the movie has been poor and it looks like it will sink onto home video quickly.
Another film taking advantage of the lack of big new movie release, the biggest movie of the summer stays inside the top 5 for a 14th weekend with a gross of $4.7 Million at number 4, a small 20% drop from last weekend.
Whats even more impressive is that the movie is released onto digital home video this week, which does not seem to have effect the box office pull of the movie.
It is by far the top movie of the year with $691 Million, a place it will remain at as the year closes, it is also now the 6th top movie of all time in the US and will close in on Black Panther in the coming days to enter the top 5 of all time.
Taking a massive dive from its debut position as the top last weekend is the Japanese animated movie which falls to number 5 this weekend with $4.5 Million, a 77% drop over last weekend which gives it a total US gross of $30.7 Million after 2 weeks.
