Based on the video game of the same name Five Nights at Friddys is given a 15 age rating in the UK for strong threat, violence.
The movie stars Josh Hutcherson who has previously appeared in The Forger from 2012 and The Hunger Games, it also stars Matthew Lillard who is no stranger to the horror genre having appeared in Scream, he has also starred in Senseless from 1998.
The movie is directed by Emma Tammi who has previously directed The Wind in 2019.

Mike Schmidt, a troubled security guard, accepts a night-time job at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, a once-successful but now abandoned family entertainment center, where he discovers its four animatronic mascots � Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy � move and kill anyone that is still there after midnight.

The success of The Hunger Games series of movie sparked of a passion for more in the series from its fans and The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes, the first in a prequel series has been given a 12A age rating in the UK for moderate violence, threat, drug misuse.
A new cast is featured in the prequel movie which is headed up by Rachel Zegler who has previously appeared in Shazam Fury of the Gods and West Side Story~2020 and is set to star in the upcoming Snow White~2024 live action remake, it also stars Hunter Schafer who has previously lent his voice to Belle The Dragon and the Freckled Princess.
The movie is directed by Francis Lawrence who is no stranger to the series as he directed The Hunger Games Catching Fire, The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 and The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2

As the year 2023 rolls on into January there are movie new releases this weekend, but none were good enough to topple Avatar: The Way of Water from the top of the UK box office.
The highest new movie of the weekend is A Man Called Otto which is new at 4, also in the top 5 is the latest cinema event Andre Rieu: In Dublin 2023.
Further down the chart is Till which is new at 6 with £327,496, the action movie The Enforcer~2022 is new at 12 with £71,836 and finally there is a re-entry at 15 for Shrek, the 2001 animated hit movie which take £44,199.
The sequel movie to Avatar takes £5.8 Million on its 4th weekend of release which is a small 25% drop over last weekend.
The movie has taken a UK total of £57.2 Million, which almost by default makes it the top movie of 2023, and although its not the top movie released in 2022 it is catching Top Gun: Maverick and has grossed almost the same at that movie 4 weeks into its box office run.
The original movie has taken £41 Million 4 weeks into its run so this movie is well ahead of that and is set to out gross the 2009 film.
The bio-pic of Whitney Houston remains at number 2 for a second weekend with a gross of £1.3 Million, a 58% drop over its debut last weekend.
This gives the movie a total gross of £6.2 Million after 2 weekends of release.
The musical version of the Roald Dahl story Matilda remains at number 3 this weekend with a gross of £1.1 Million, a drop of 42%.
The movie has been a massive hit in the UK with a 3 week run at the top and after 7 weeks, all inside the top 3, the movie has taken £23.9 Million.

Highest new movie of the weekend is the latest from Tom Hanks which is a remake of the Swedish movie A Man Called Ove from 2015.
THe movie takes £1.1 Million on its debut weekend of release in the UK.
No stranger to the box office, Andre Rieu's latest live concert offering where he is performing live in Dublin lands at number 5 this week.
The event movie takes £715,986 in screenings starting from Saturday 7th which is about on par with the violinists last concert Andre Rieu's 2022 Maastricht Concert: Happy Days Are Here Again which took £798,706 in August of 2022.
Spending a second weekend at the top is The Batman on its second weekend of release, with the highest new movie at number 2 as the concert movie BTS Permission to Dance On Stage - Seoul: Live Viewing makes its debut.
Also new this weekend is the Disney/Pixar movie Turning Red which despite getting a Disney+ release in many countries gets a cinema release in 12 territories which gives it a debut at 9 with $3.8 Million.

World box office top 5 weekend breakdown 11th - 13th March 2022
Second weekend for the Matt Reeves directed vision of the Batman which takes $132.6 Million from a huge 76 countries, a fairly good 49% drop over its debut.
The movie is heading to be the top movie of 2022 but is currently at number 4 with $463.2 Million global total, the current top movie of 2022 is The Battle At Lake Changjin II with $625.9 Million.
The opening of the current movie has been one of the best over the pandemic and is setting the bar for the big blockbusters to come later this year.
Highest new movie of the weekend is the cinema event concert movie for super group BTS from South Korea which enters at number 2 with $32.6 Million from 75 countries.
The super group are no stranger to the box office having last had a concert in cinemas in 2018 with Love Yourself In Seoul: BTS World Tour 2019 which grossed $10 Million globally.
The Tom Holland starring video game adaptation is starting is decent down the box office now as its takes $20.4 Million on its 5th weekend of release from 65 countries, a small 28% drop over last weekend.
This gives it a $301.2 Million total global gross making it the 5th top movie of 2022.
The other Tom Holland movie still on the box office this week, dropping to number 4 is the Sony/Marvel global smash which this weekend takes $6.4 Million from 60 countries, a small 23% drop.
Incredibly the movie has been on the box office for 13 weeks and is starting to appear on digital streaming, including Disney+, over this week, the movie has taken $1.8 Billion globally and although was released in 2021 is the 2nd top movie of 2022.
The Channing Tatum starring movie drop to number 5 this weekend with $6 Million from 20 countries, which is an amazing 11% drop on its 4th weekend of release, the movie has a global gross of $55.3 Million.
