News from around the web

Brand new at the top of the video charts on it's debut week of release is the Dwayne Johnson starring vehicle San Andreas.

The film was released into UK cinemas on May 29th 2015 where it debuted at the top after The Rock did a whirlwind of publicity around the film.

A £4.6 million debut was greeted with a 60% drop the following week, a 6 week run on the box office was it gross £11.3 million in the UK.

Not a massive UK hit it did very well across the globe grossing $470.4 million and sits as the 155th top grossing movie of all time.

Mad Max Fury Road falls from the top where it debuted last week into number 2 this week.

Also new on the UK video charts this week are: Insidious Chapter 3 getting ready for the Halloween season at number 3 and Pierce Bronson in Survivor which was a small hit from earlier this year.

This week in the UK Seth Rogan and Zac Efron hit the top spot with their comedy Bad Neighbours which outsells The Amazing Spider-man 2.

Bad Neighbours was released at the UK box office on 9th May this year, and after some controversy over box office taking for advance screenings took a very good £8.4 million on it's debut.

The controversy was down to 2 weeks of preview screening being added to the opening weekend take, so the film was actually released 2 weeks earlier and only took about £2 million on it;s debut weekend proper.

Despite this the film hung around the box office for 6 weeks and had a nice steady drop down the chart and took just why of £16 million during it's box office run, it is the 249th highest grossing film in the UK ever!

Falling into second place is The Amazing Spider-man 2 which topped the video chart last week.

Other new film this week are

Brick Mansions at 7 - Survivor at 9 - The Angriest Man in Brooklyn at 15

Quite interesting that we have 2 Posthumous films on the UK video chart this week in the shape of Paul Walkers Brick Mansions and Robin Williams The Angriest Man in Brooklyn.

Taking over at the top of the UK home entertainment big sellers this week is the 2014 remake of Robocop.

Robocop 2014 was released at UK cinemas early February this year making the number 2 spot on it's debit week, beaten by Mr. Peabody and Sherman, when it grossed £2.4 million.

Over a 4 week period on the box office it grossed £7.7 million and never climbed higher than it's number 2 debut spot.

Last weeks top film, Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit, has a hefty fall down the chart to number 8 this week after it's debut last week.

There are 5 other new releases this week - The Monuments Men at 2 - Lone Survivor at 3 - Last Vegas at 5 - Delivery Man at 9 - Cuban Fury at 13 -
