This weekend, Friday 27th August 2021, there are 5 new films released in the UK and where available looking to hit the box office chart, but can they challenge last weekends top movie, Free Guy, for the number 1 spot?

This week mega hit Avengers Age of Ultron storms its way to the top of the UK video charts on it's debut week of release.
Age of Ultron was released at the UK cinemas on April 24th 2015 and flew in at the top of the box office chart taking £18 million on it's debut, the 9th biggest in UK cinema history.
It spent an excellent 9 weeks on the box office top 15 and another 8 bubbling around cinemas after the fuss dies down.
Over its cinema run in the UK the film managed a total gross of £48.3 million, the 25th highest grossing in the UK, and 3 million behind Avengers Assemble, not bad though.
Across the globe the film took an amazing $1.4 billion and is currently the 6th biggest film of all time, 1 place below it's predecessor.
Fast and Furious 7 falls from the top spot down to number 2 this week, its second week of release.
Also make a fresh appearance this week are: The Age of Adaline a number 5 box office hit from May and War Pigs which is a DTV movie starring Dolph Lundgren.
Despite the release of 2 strong competing films this week Avengers Age of Ultron retains its position as the top film across the world with $223 million, it has the widest release with 92 territories.
Mad Max Fury Road is the top new film of the week with a world gross of $109.4 million, it opened in 69 territories including the UK and America.
A second week of release across the world and released in some major territories Pitch Perfect 2 is at 3 with $97 million, Fast and Furious 7 is still strong at 4 and Home is still pulling in the audiences at 5.

Now in its third week Avengers Age of Ultron is totally dominent on the UK box office, this weekend taking another £3 million.
The total gross for the laters Marvel superhero film in the UK is £40 million which takes it above Fast and Furious 7 as the highest grossing film of the year, an accolade Furious 7 held for 1 week.
Age of Ultron is more or less running at a par with Avengers Assemble and should end up with a similar total UK gross, across the work Ultron has grossed just over $880 million.
Making its debut on the box office this week is British film [spooks] The Greater Good - based on the TV show Spooks.
Entering in the runner up spot the film takes just over a million pound.
Other new film to enter the box office this week are: The Age of Adaline at 5 and Big Game at number 7.
Historical charts - A year ago - Bad Neighbours took over from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 at the top of the chart on it's debut week of release.
Five years ago - Iron Man 2 held on strong at the top of the box office which the highest new film of the week was Furry Vengeance which came in at 2.
Ten years ago - Kingdom of Heaven made it's debut at the top of the box office knocking The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy down to the number 2 slot.
Fifteen years ago - Kevin and Perry Go Large was still riding high at the top of the UK box office while the highest new film was right down at 6 in the shape of Man On The Moon starring Jim Carrey.
Twenty years ago - Outbreak held onto the top of the box office and there were no new entries on the chart for this week.
Avengers Age of Ultron is still dominating the world this week on it's third week of release help in no small part by it having a very good second weekend in America.
A world gross of $145 million saw it very comfortably retain its lead over the rest, although it does have by far the greatest territory release with 91 countries.
Furious 7 is still the second film with a world gross of $24 million for the week and with a world total of $1.4 billion to looks set to overtake the original Avengers Assemble film as the third highest of all time.
The rest of the top 5 is filled out with Hot Pursuit at 3, Chappie at 4 and Home at 5.
Highest new film is Pitch Perfect 2 which had a early release in 2 territories and makes number 6 with $8.8 million putting it in good shape when it has a full release this week.
