The Batman stays at hte top of the UK box office for a second weekend as its weekend gross drops 45% but it still far out grosses the rest of the top 15 again.

Highest new movie of the weekend is the event movie BTS Permission to Dance On Stage - Seoul: Live Viewing which comes in at number 3 while Indian movie Radhe Shyam is also new at number 9 with £186,705.

UK box office top 5 weekend breakdown 11th - 13th March 2022

The Batman

Spending a second weekend at the top of the UK box office is the DC Universe movie directed by Matt reeves and starring Robert Pattinson as The Dark Knight which takes £7.2 Million, a 45% drop over last weekend.

The movie takes 61% of the weekend box office top 15 takings and is the second top movie of 2022 so far, there is a chance it will take the top spot of the year by next weekend.

Uncharted

The Tom Holland starring video game adaptation remains at number 2 for a second weekend with just ave a million pound, a very good 21% drop over last week.

This gives the movie a total UK gross of £21 Million after 5 weeks and making it the 4th top movie of 2022.

BTS Permission to Dance On Stage Seoul: Live Viewing

Highest new movie of the weekend is an event movie from super group BTS which this weekend lands at number 3 with £899,126.

The band were previously on the UK box office in 2018 with their concert movie Love Yourself In Seoul: BTS World Tour 2019 which was a top 10 hit for a weekend with a gross of £518,809.

Sing 2

The mega smash hit animated sequel falls to number 4 this weekend with £819,153 on its 7th weekend, a 21% drop, giving the movie a total UK gross of £31 Million and making it the top movie of 2022 so far.

The Roger Michell directed movie falls to number 5 on its 5th weekend of release with £500,749, a 27% drop, giving it a new total gross of £3.8 Million.

The long awaited release of director Matt Reeves vision of the caped crusader finally happened this weekend after a couple of delays and The Batman hit number 1 on its debut.

Also making its debut us Ali & Ava which enters at number 9 with a debut gross of ¤106,133, and The Godfather Part II re-enters at number 13 after the 25th Anniversary of the original The Godfather.

UK box office top 5 weekend breakdown 4th - 6th March 2022

The Batman

As expected the country went crazy for the first solo Batman movie in a while, and the reviews were very favourable for Robert Pattinson as the caped crusader.

The movie made its debut with a weekend gross of £13.5 Million, this makes it the 50th top opening weekend ever in the UK.

It will no doubt get into the top grossing movie of all time in the UK but until then it is at least the 5th top grossing movie of 2022 on its debut with the possibility of jumping into the top 3 by next weekend.

The road ahead looks good until the end of March/beginning of April when there is a double big release of Morbius and Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

Uncharted

Tom Holland drops to number 2 this weekend with the video game adaptation which spent 3 weeks at number 1, this week it takes £1.3 Million, a hefty 57% drop over last weekend.

This gives the movie a total gross in the UK of £20 Million and its the third top movie of 2022.

The movie also takes the honor this weekend of the highest grossing movie based on a video game, taking over from Sonic the Hedgehog.

Sing 2

The mega smash animated sequel this weekend takes £1.03 Million as it drops to number 3, a big 61% drop on its 6th weekend of release.

It has now taken £30 Million in the UK as marks a new milestone in box office takings, it also is the top grossing movie, so far, of 2022.

One last honor it takes this weekend, it surpasses the total gross of the original Sing which took £28.9 Million in 2017.

The Duke

Falling ot number 4 this weekend is the true life dramatic comedy starring Jim Broadbent and Helen Mirren which takes £682,096 on its second weekend, a 31% drop, for a total of £2.7 Million.

Death On the Nile

Dropping to number 5 is the Kenneth Branagh directed Hercule Poirot mystery which takes £283,550 after 4 weeks, a big 63% drop, for a £7.1 Million total.

The Duke starring British powerhouses Jim Broadbent and Helen Mirren is the top new movie of the weekend at number 3 while the video game adaptation Uncharted remains at the top for a third consecutive weekend.

Uncharted

Three weeks on and the Tom Holland movie adaptation of the popular video game of the same name directed by Ruben Fleischer is still the number 1 movie in the UK.

This weekend the film takes £3 Million which is an incredibly slim 18% drop from last weekend which gives the movie a total UK gross of £18 Million.

The movie is now the 3rd top movie of 2022 so far.

Sing 2

The incredible success of the animated sequel from director Garth Jennings keeps the movie at number 2 this weekend with a £2.6 Million weekend gross.

After 5 weeks of release this is an amazing 15% drop over last weekend, helped most likely by the half term week in the UK.

The movie has now taken £29 Million in the UK and is the top grossing film so far in 2022, it is also a slither away from outgrossing the 2017 original Sing.

Still pulling in audiences is the Kenneth Branagh murder mystery adaptation which this week drop a single place to number 4 with £764,438 from its 3rd weekend of release, a 43% drop, giving the movie a £6 Million total and the 6th top movie of 2022.

Dog

Dropping to number 5 on its second weekend the Channing Tatum starring movie takes £650,852, a 21% drop, giving it a total UK gross of £2.1 Million.
