It Chapter Two brings to and end a quiet couple of weeks at the UK box office as it enters the top of the box office while Polish Political drama Polityka enters inside the top 5.

IT Chapter Two

Its been 2 years since the original IT scared audiences on its debit weekend to the tune of £10 Million, the sequel has not quite reached that mark but the £7.3 Million has given the UK box office a boost.

Whereas the first film relied on its young cast and the thought of Pennywise the clown to carry the film this film brings in some big hitting stars like Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy and Bill Hader.

The first film went on to £32 Million in the UK and hung around till the end of October (Halloween), expect this to not quite do as well as its predecessor but hang around until late October.

Once Upon a Time ... In Hollywood

Quentin Tarantino's (who lets face it is the real star of this movie) 9th film falls to number 2 this week and is easily his most successful film to date as this weekend it take £1 Milllion.

This pushes the movies total gross to £18.5 Million after 4 weeks of release.

Angel Has Fallen

The third film in the Fallen series starring Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman falls to number 3 this week with £695,622 taking its total to £5.9 Million.

The Lion King

Highest total grossing film on the box office this week and a £686,991 weekend puts its total at an incredible £73.1 after 8 weeks of release.

Polityka

Entering the box office at number 5 this week is a Polish Political drama starring Iwona Bielska and Marcin Bosak and directed by Patryk Vega.

The film takes a very respectable £517,255 on its debut from a limited run of 236 screens making an average of nearly £2,000 per screen.

Toy Story 4

Pixars mega hit has the longest run on the UK box office this weekend as the film notches up its 12th weekend with a total UK gross of £64.5 Million.

Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs And Shaw finally gets a Chinese release and flies back to the top of the global box office while a quiet overall weekend has Angel Has Fallen the highest new film.

Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs and Shaw

The Fast & Furious franchise movie gets a release in China, where these films have always done well, and takes $101 Million on its debut pushing the film back to the top of the global box office.

The films total weekend gross is $128 Million from 69 territories after 4 weeks of release which pushes its total gross to $588 Million, it will end its box office run as the third top grossing film of the franchise.

The Lion King

Disneys mammoth remake rises back to number 2 this weekend with a gross of $38 Million from 57 countries after 7 weeks of release.

The film has followed suit with other Disney remakes of animated movies and takes over a billion, this remake has gone one better than Beauty And The Beast and gone over $1.5 Billion and become the highest grossing remake to date.

Once Upon a Time ... In Hollywood

Tarantino's celebrated look at late 60's Hollywood falls to 3 this week with a gross of $33 Million from 56 countries after 5 weeks of release.

The film which will be one of the highest grossing non-Disney films by the end of the year has taken $239.7 Million to date.

Angel Has Fallen

Highest new film of the week is the Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman starring movie which is the third in the Fallen series which takes $29.6 Million from 31 countries which is in the same ball park as the previous film London Has Fallen.

Ne Zha

The Chinese produces animated movie takes $22.9 Million on its 5th weekend of release from 2 countries.

The Film has now taken an amazing $648.5 Million, with most of that from just a single territory.

As expected the movie version of Mrs. Browns Boys took the top spot at the UK box office, and with quite a strong margin over the rest.

On it's debut weekend Mrs. Brown's Boys D'Movie took an incredible £4.3 million, far higher than expected and proving that the Irish sit-com has quite a following.

I suspect that this is a fairly front loaded event and we could see it fall quite sharply, I dont think it has the lasting appeal of movie like The Inbetweeners Movie.

Falling to the runner up spot this week is The Fault in our stars which made £1.7 million from the weekend bringing it's 10 day gross to £6.7 million.

Other new film to chart this week are: - Chef at 5 - How to Train Your Drans 2 (still only on previews) at 6 - Walking on Sunshine at 7 - Cold in July at 11 - Ek Villain at 12 - Punjab 1984 at 13

This time last year Despicable Me 2 hit the top of the box office on it's debut week of release, it would go on to be the top film in the UK of 2013, it knocked Man of Steel into 2nd place.

Five years ago Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was still the top film in the UK and Year One with Jack Black was the highest new film at 3.

Ten years ago it was still Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban at the top while the top new film of the week was Tom Hanks on Lady Killers at 4.

Fifteen years ago Brendan Fraser made a big screen comeback in The Mummy which debuted at the top of the box office knocking The Matrix into the runner up spot after only a week.
