$205.1 Million Japanese animated movies hav done well on the North American box office this year and this week another classic makes its debut at the top of the chart as Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc makes its debut.
The movie tops the chart with an excellent $18 Million gross is a quiet time at cinemas where studios seems to be waiting for the holiday season to release movies.
Last weeks top movie, Black Phone 2, falls to number 3 this week and has taken nearly $50 Million to date.
Highest new movie this weekend
The Disney sequel movie Moana 2 has stormed the United Kingdom box office as it debuts at the top with a weekend gross of £12 Million.
This is about £10 Million more than the original Moana movie which took in 2016 when it made its debut a the same time of year.
Any other weekend Wicked~2024 would have stayed at the top of the box office with a second weekend gross of £8.3 Million, but the Disney sequel was just too strong.
Still the musical adaptation only falls to number 2 and the weeks ahead look to be strong and a battle between this and Moana 2 over the holiday period could be on the cards.
THe whole of the top 5 this weekend took over £1 Million each something which is still quite rare in the UK and hasn't happened since the weekend of August 16th 2024.

Wicked~2024 tops the North American box office on its debut weekend release with a gross of $112 Million.
The stage show adaptation has been strong word of mouth and is set to be the holiday favourite movie of 2024.
Released the same day and hoping to ride the wave of hype is the sequel movie Gladiator II.
Take a very respectable $55 Million over the weekend the movie enters the box office chart at number 2.
Last weeks top movie, Red One falls to number 3 this weekend and has taken $52.8 Million to date.

The movie stars Lauren LaVera who has previously been seen in Christmas Romance Al Dente and Terrifier 2, it also stars David Howard Thornton who has starred in The Mean One and Terrifier.
the movie is directed by Damien Leone who directed both Terrifier and Terrifier 2 and also directed All Hallows Eve.
